Hi

This is probaly an easy question but i don't know much about dns and just wanted to know if it could be done

If mydomain.com is pointed to two nameservers is it possible to point subdomain.mydomain.com to a different set of nameservers from those two nameservers?

Thanks

Sean

I'm not a DNS guru, but I don't think you can.

The question that pops into my mind, though, is: why would you want to? I'm not sure what purpose it would serve. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious.

Yes - just set up NS records in the zone file for that domain.

Yeah, you can do it alright. Just create on the other nameservers your subdomain records and on the main domain records, add I think SOA records that point to that other nameservers.

Email me if u need help, I might be able to help you out, I did that once and it work wonderfully ;)

Wouldn't you just point them to the IP of the other host? Like blah.yourdomain.com resolves to 1.1.1.1. Or do you want to make it so that the other host can create subdomains off the subdomain in their nameserver?
