Hi , I have a cisco 7120 Router and a 2950 switch , i am interested in doing vlan , anyone here with experiance with vlan has some tips or url that will help me . Thanks

the 2950 isnt a layer 3 switch so therefor you cannot do proper vlan seperation.

What is it that you're actually trying to achieve as your end result?

You can check the Cisco website to configure VLANs on the Cisco 2950 (but it cannot work on its own). What the Cisco site doesnt' tell you is that you need to use the router to configure the VLAN tag.

Define your VLAN and your bridge group on the Cisco switch, then configure a subinterface on one of your Fast Ethernet ports with the same VLAN ID on the switch... the tag should be able to read each other as long as the switch and router are already hooked up properly.
