How much more can one expect to pay to colocate a 2u server than a 1u server?

<<MOD EDIT:>>
I think Planet Z meant to say, double that of a 1U. Planet Z, I don't see where he asked how much your company would charge per U?

I know <<you>> can have 4 servers in 1U case. if you have a lot of servers to co-locate, consider this. why pay more to host your servers?

Aloha
I know my friend charges $25 per space so it would be $50 vs $25

My bad. I meant the average is around $25 per U of space. Sun must be getting to me.

I already saw this at http://www.racksaver.com - has anybody ever used this? Aren't there massive thermal problems?
Wondering...

I havent owned a rack saver box, but we have dealt with them. You hit the nail on the head. They have some pretty major heat problems. That's not to say they all fail, but Idid notice more problems than usual.

There's another vendor out there you might want to look at. I have no idea if they are any good, but they sure look more professional than racksaver. http://www.crystalpc.com/. They address the issue of keeping things cool from the get-go.

Seems like the trend is starting to be like, "of course 80 independant systems in a rack cluster produce way too much heat and half of the boxes will fail but that's not a problem at all since the other half will take on the load!"

That's pushing the "building reliable system with unreliable material" idea a little bit to far I think :)

Just my 2 cents
