yeah Im thinking about doing this too, for my home town. Ive been looking around the site and reading up on stuff. I even have a friend of a friend up north I talked to who does tihs for his college campus (people that live out of the dorms) and he says so far NO PROBLEM. So if you can do it, and want to do it you should. :)

and I think it is worth going aganst AOL. If you know Visual Basic, you can write a nice little interface and all kinds of goodies. Also it will cost more than $99's to start up if you want your own dialup portal. If you dont pay the extra for it itll be like username@123dialup.com or whatever :).
