Hi all,

I'm a new user here. Nice meeting y'all

anyways, i'm looking for a webhost now

my main requirement is high bandwidth
at least 50GB/month

I'm not concerned about other requirements like cgi, asp, php...etc.

I've tried ez-web-hosting, tera-byte, simplenet
simplenet is the best one I've ever used, but they are only offering up to 30GB, that's why I'm looking for a new host now.

Thank you very much :D

With that kind of trafic, I think that you need a dedicated.

but my friend said since my site doesn't need memory, i don't really need a dedicated server, maybe co-location is fine.

my site has about 80000 page views per day, and I store all the image files on free host.

about 1.5 GB (html files) transfer per day..i need at least 50GB per month

do you know any good offers?
Thanks a lot!

See the thing is not memory, well...its not the most important thing

but we (ISP) pay for the bandwidth...
Say 1GB is 3-5$....Go figure,,,50x3=150
Would you be willing to pay 150 a month for a shared account?

Well, those are the COSTS for the ISP.... So then they still have other costs and they are still not making any profit...

Get my point here?

yah, i got ya

but see if 50GB x $3 = $150 per month
and simplenet is offering 30GB at $28
if i signed up for 2 accounts, that's 60GB for $56...a lot cheaper than $150

yup, i understand that ISP pay for the bandwidth, but if i get a dedicated server, i'll pay for $3-5 per GB, is that correct?

i dun really see the difference, so confused now...

my email is ayoko_ayu@hotmail.com

Ayoko... did you contact SimpleNet to ask them what their bandwidth overage charges are?

If you're happy with SimpleNet, I think your best bet might be to just get two accounts and split up your files between the two.

Jedito...what does RaQ2 mean? and what do u mean only have plain htmls? if they offer $79 per month with 150 GB, that's not a bad deal at all =D

IntelligentHosting.com...thanks, i was thinking to sign-up for 2 accounts and split up the files as well. I haven't asked them what their bandwidth overage charges are...why?

i guess 50GB per month is really a high traffic huh?
if someone offer me $1.5 per GB transfer, do you think it's a good deal?
50 x 1.5 = $75

Thanks

A Raq2 is a slow cobalt server, but if you only goes to host HTML files there, you don't go to have any problem with it.

Raqs are very slow once you reach the 40-60GB's per month. But if your site is mostly HTML you shouldn;t have any problems with it.

50 x 1.5 = $75

Anything less than $100 for 50 gigs of data transfer is a good deal. Bandwidth generally cost around $2-4 /gig. Another question you might want to ask your provider is how much its going to cost if you go over the limit.

Yeah... becasue some of the host may charge more than $10 per GB.

Make sure that they will not stop your site straight away just becasue your site started using more data transfer then you were allocated.

Better read the terms before signing with any one.

All the best.

Note: It is not necessary to have a dediacted server for 50GB... I don't think so.
