Hi All
Complete new area for me, I have some questions regarding the hosting for a radio station:
1- What software platform will be required?.. (OS, Web Server, etc?)
2- How much bandwitch will the station require?
3- How many server resources will it consume? Do I need one server dedicated for this?
4- How I bridge or connect the Station programming with the Server?
5. How much to charge given the station is non-for-profit?
Basically that are the questions.
TIA

For the streaming server itself use Shoutcast it the most popular and its free. http://www.shoutcast.com/download/
1- What software platform will be required?.. (OS, Web Server, etc?)
On a large scale any unix or linux will do, but if a small about 100 connections max use windoze its easier to setup. WebServer: on Unix or Linux Use Apache, On Windows use Apache or IIS.
2- How much bandwitch will the station require?
It all depends on how many users connected and how the quailty of the stream is.
3- How many server resources will it consume? Do I need one server dedicated for this?
I would recommend a ded box for this, you may put the website on the box too.
4- How I bridge or connect the Station programming with the Server?
With Shoutcast you can have use their own shoutcast plugin that works with winamp, or use software from http://www.spacialaudio.com
5. How much to charge given the station is non-for-profit?
This again depends on how many users connect and how much bandwidth is being used. If you want cheap I suggest getting the radio station to get a SDSL line and get a colo box @ fdcservers. And have them send the stream to the box @ fdcservers that will stream to the users.

Remember that Real/WindowsMedia Server is better choice for end costumers since they are more supported by browsers, better quality and etc...
Now most of them prefer WindowsMedia than Real

Winamps' shoutcast is superb.
Remember your licensing! you can get MAJORLY busted for this if you're not careful.
