Give it a try and you'll see its definitly not too good to be true. MarcD 06-08-2003, 11:09 PM Hmmmm Dedicated 2400 + AMD CPU - $59.95/mth 1024 MB DDR Ram Maxtor 80 GB Hard Drive Space Free Ensim Pro Panel ( Cpanel extra $25.00 per month) with 500 gigs $59.95. /mth for the first 6 months--- $149.95 after I may just try it out and see how it is. Coach 06-08-2003, 11:18 PM mississa, what does your network look like? Additionally, free IP's were mentioned. What is the max amount that can be allocated per server? Are your servers monitored 24/7 by onsite techs? I noticed hours from 9-5, but if there was a need for a hard reboot after that time, I would be interested in what would be done and reponse times. Matt 06-08-2003, 11:23 PM inteltechs, being a competitor of theirs now that you offer dedicated servers, I don't think it is appropriate for you to bash them by saying "too good to be true" And no, I am not a client or employee, I just cannot stand a company flat out putting down a competitor. I have never been a client of theirs so I cannot comment on their service...and neither should you. Let their clients speak...those who will not gain anything by trying to make a competitor look bad. GideonX 06-08-2003, 11:30 PM $59.95. /mth for the first 6 months--- $149.95 after seems like a decent price for $150 after the first 6 months...sounds like a marketing thing to get ppl in. mississa 06-09-2003, 12:00 AM coach .. mississa, what does your network look like? - We have a 100Mbit line running dark fiber to toronto's main carrier hotel ( 151 front street ) Additionally, free IP's were mentioned. What is the max amount that can be allocated per server? - There is no limit really and we don't charge but we do request that you use 95% of them for domains or we can't provide more. Once you use them we will give you more however you desire it. Are your servers monitored 24/7 by onsite techs? I noticed hours from 9-5, but if there was a need for a hard reboot after that time, I would be interested in what would be done and reponse times. - Well we don't monitor clients servers only ours however if you find your server down all you have to do is send an e-mail that we have designated for reboots and such things and within minutes every admin on file will get paged with the problem and everyone will be aware of the issue. Any of us can handle the issues @ hand and one of us is always available and on call to deal with any issues that arrise within 5 or 10 min. Furthermore we have a emergency line that you can call and speak to a live representative 24/7. savageghost ... . thank you .. I don't want to be mean and everyone has a right to their openion however i belive he should try the service and I can almost asure him and anyone else they will not be dissapointed. We are constantly putting up dedicated servers and to my recognition there has not been one cancelation in months asside from companies that go out of business of course. Gideox ... yup, it is a marketing strattegy because we want to use up alot of bandwidth that we dont use right now. We have 100Mbit line with premium bandwidth and if you try pinging you will see our network is very fast and reliable. WE are only using about 30 - 40 % of bandwidth right now so we figure we would just give it away and hope for the best ( it doesn't cost us much more so we are passing our savings on to the clients ) . This way it will help both our company and the people who would like a less expensive service but still getting equal or better service as some of the more expensive competitors. Let us know if you have any other questions mississa 06-09-2003, 12:03 AM OH i mentioned ping ip sorry we block pings to our site and stuff but here is an ip you can check and download speed for all of you who want more info. You can also check out the dedicated server advertising which is were we post all our deals :) Test ip = 64.141.96.24 Test download Speed ... > http://64.141.96.24/ensim SolidJoe 06-09-2003, 12:09 AM I'd be interested too if you get your network problems fixed. I've tried downloading that test file during various times in the day from different locations in the US. From my DSL in Califronia, I get around 60-100k/sec. From Rackshack, I get about 40k/sec. And from FDC Cogent (which does about 1.5megs to RS) I get 40k/sec. How saturated is your line currently? Or is the routing messed up? Because I can never get any good speeds downloading that file. Coach 06-09-2003, 12:27 AM Same here SolidJoe. My numbers are dead on yours. Thanks for the information mississa. Yes, any IP's requested would be per arin guidelines of course. One thing I'm wanting clarified though is, I think you're saying that it isn't monitored on site after hours, however problems will page an admin, so if I needed a reboot at 3 in the morning, I could expect that to be done in five to ten minutes? I'm not referring to a remote reboot because that's something I could do from the command line. I'm talking about a completely dead box that is unreachable via SSH. mississa 06-09-2003, 12:39 AM Hum.. not sure .. our line is only right now at this very second 20 % used and it doesn't usually go past 35 to 40 % .. almost never .. I want to see if there is infact a problem and if so i want to get it fixed for better performance. Thank you for your input of course :) Coach 06-09-2003, 12:53 AM The 40 KB/s is coming from 216.40.242.78. It's blocked at the firewall for pings and trace routes though. It turns out the network card on one server was not properly configured thus resulting in this issue. The network card was not set to full duplex. I dont know why but it wasn't but anyhow the server is fixed and the speed is back to normal. Pleas let us know if you encounter any more problems.
