Hi
I am looking into paying for hosting and was wondering how many websites i can run off hosted webspace. To run 3 websites can i use one hosting package or do i need to pay for hosting three times?Or do some hosting companies charge extra to use more than one web site off my paid for webspace? This will be my first time paying for hosting.
Regards Steve.

Usually one, but it depends on the webhost. Ask before signing up for anything.

That is right. Different host have different policies. Some you need to register 3 hosting plan and pay 3 times.
Some you can host multiple domain on a single account.
Some you can signup as a reseller and get discount for 2nd and following hosting account.
And even some will give you quantity discount.

probably you should look for some host who offer multiple domain hosting ..you can look into aletia if you are looking at linux platform or M6.net if you wanna WIN2000 based hosting ..or you could do a search with multiple domain hosting as topic

Steve,
To answer the questions... sometimes. The best thing to do is ask a prospective host if they allow you to run extra domains under a single account. It's not too hard to do, and will be more a policy argument than any real difficulty in setting it up. As long as you have an account that will handle the space and transfer needs of the three domains, most hosting companies shouldn't have a problem doing that for you.
Running three domains under one account does have a few tradeoffs of course. Mainly that of sharing account passwords, and e-mail addresses. This actually suits some people better as they can collect mail from all domains just be logging into a single account.
So it's not so much if a host will do it, but rather if the setup is something that will suit you.
