I remember I saw on the forum before about this site that analyse all the email traffic and base on some pattern matching can help to filter out spam...

Something of that sort.

Anyone knows what I am talking about?

I don't know about the thing you're referring to, but we use SpamAssassin on our employee mail server. It isn't perfect, but it kills 90+% of all SPAM. Of course, if you send me an Evite, I won't be showing up to your party...

I wasn't really thinking of using it for our servers though. But I am helping some students do their final year thesis on Spam. I help at least a group or 2 every year, on different topics. I guess I have to revert to using pigeons to send you that invitation to my house warming....

Thesis on spam? Sounds interesting. What's the basic premise? Of course, we could just go back to emailing each other... :)

The basic premise is obviously to see if there's a better way to stop spam than current existing methods. There's also the usual boring research sections on what's currently existing, their strengths, weaknesses, and possibly, an attempt to delve deeper into financial cost of spam in more details... you get the gist :)
