I am hosting a web site owned by a radio station broadcasting 24/7 over the Internet.

I only host the web site - not the streaming.

Neither I nor the owner of the radio station understand anything about streaming, but are looking for other sources and would also like to know the things necessary to archive some of the shows.

Any info or recommendations for providers of this service would be appreciated.

Some radio/mp3 stream providers are:

Stream Guys (http://www.streamguys.com)
iminteractive.net (http://www.iminteractive.net/) and
PlayStream (http://www.playstream.com)

Play Stream mainly has static services but the other two use stream services with the ShoutCast (http://www.shoutcast.com) server. I'm not sure about ImInteractive, but I listen to a station hosted by The Stream Guys and at 128kbps their stream is both very fast and reliable.

Just today I found this 'net-enabled radio station. They're using Yahoo! Broadcast. I don't know anything about how either works, but it might give you another option to look at.
