View Full Version : Anyone familiar with HostPro?
podemus 07-10-2001, 08:02 PM Hi. I'm new to this board, so please forgive if I'm asking a question thats been asked many times before. However, has anyone had a personal experience with HostPro as a shared-hosting provider? And was it positive? Negative? Our company is in need of a shared-hosting plan, SQL Server space, ASP capabilities. Price isn't really a big deal. Quite frankly, paying $50, $100, or more per month is really not an issue as long as I can be assured that my site will a) experience the very minimum of downtime, and 2) we receive prompt and accurate tech/customer support.
Thanks folks,
Scott
podemus 07-11-2001, 11:23 AM Dadgum. Just found out Hostpro was related to Interland. My recommendation (as I've seen mirrored throughout) is to simply burn your money and cuss your customers out -- its an easier way to go broke and out of business. Plus, there is no contract that way.
ARGH!!! I NEED A RELIABLE ASP ENABLED SHARED-HOSTING PLATFORM!!!!
Disgruntled...
Hostpro spammed this board so I would say not to go with them.
jdulberg 07-11-2001, 01:13 PM I just moved my clients data from a Vservers Ultra to the HostPro Freedom 500x plan and had a heck of a time in the process. Tech support is okay but not all that prompt. Their email response system went down for a week so that caused problems with the swap.
What did HostPro say on this board?

Aloha
do a search
I have been with them for over 4 years
unix yes they are great
win boxes RUN RUN VERY FAST AND VERY FAR
better just take a week and read here do lots of searches and make lots of notes
at least you know what you want
depending on Money check out www.maximumasp.com
expensive but never hear anything but they are great
also
www.ecui.com
www.datapipe.com
both these seemed good to me as far as network was concerned
podemus 07-11-2001, 01:58 PM  Search?!?!?!
Yeah...found that after I posted my message. I've become an avid user of that handy function now. :pimp:
Methinks I'm on to something. I'll check out MaximumASP thoroughly, but thats along the lines of what I want. More than willing to pay for quality. Interestingly, I'm taking an MBA class right now on strategy. Everything in the class says that competing on cost is the absolute worst way to identify your business. Frankly, I'll take quality every time. Saving an extra $2 a month is not nearly as important as saving my customers and future revenue stream.
