Thanks Chicken 07-10-2001, 08:36 PM Awwww, my first host ever! :) Well, it was quite a long time ago, so long that I doubt much of my experiences really matter any more. I actually signed up (way back then) under web229.net not the URL posted but was aware they had a couple of domains they used for hosting. Again, I'm not posting my experiences as it was well over 2 years ago... I'll just mention one thing that annoyed me about them. I could log into the email manager and change the add/delete/change the pop/forwarding addresses, and noticed that they had sale & support & 911 all forwarding to the same address. Was looking at Google for web229 and found one person who just left them in March 2001 (which is pretty recent), so you might want to contact them and ask what the deal was. Url where I found their info: http://www.vad1.com/hosting.html I dunno, the info posted isn't all that encouraging, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't like them, just that he/she didn't... noti 07-11-2001, 03:06 AM well i have been with them for almost a year with the cheapest plan ... and i signed-up at web229.net ... at first there are so many down times, but now after they upgraded the server, it seems ok with only little downtimes. i am not sure about the speed, as i only use it to host my email site (everyone.net - 2 webpages only). the support seems to be ok, but didn't contact them for more than 6 months, so not sure about now. if you are going to host a little site that uses only <1gb or <250MB of bandwidth/month, than i think you can consider web229.net ... just my 2 cetns :) |
