View Full Version : UK - collocation

Just curious... I'm based up in Sheffield, UK and if I ever get to the stage of collocating then I'd really want the box nearby so that I could tear it down myself and get it back up again.

Does anyone know of any collocation providers within a reasonable distance and I'm afraid no "London" is not what I consider within that radius... Nor is the USA ;)

Any suggestions would be useful...

Thanks

Maybe read into http://www.uk2.net colocation options ;) and Demon have some good prices on bandwidth for colocation, you might find yourself in for a pleasant shock.

they are close to where he is. They have their own NOC now.. However since they took away their support 24/7 would be a bad idea now :o)
You could try xcalibre who are based in scotland but its 6 and 2 x 3's isnt it between london and scotland from u isnt it?

Thanks for all the suggestions though people. For now I have found 2 plans reseller plans that suit my more immediate needs perfectly and for the next 12 months they should more than suit my customers too.

Thanks again.

gemsoft.net

I was trying not to create a ad for them but...

Co-Location

Locate your server at any of our POPs (Sheffield, Manchester, or Telehouse) and utilise our high speed resilient network. Full UPS protection etc. Can be located at any POP, but due to high demand Rack space is limited at Telehouse.

Note: I have never used them and have nothing to do with them.

Cheers,

Gareth

Oh that's interesting... I know the Gemsoft guys in the hardware/software store... I guess that would be an option to consider in the not to distant future.
