Thought I'd just post this here to warn others who may be considered joining imhosted.com

Started out all right, quick sign up and they activated my account within a day or so. Set my site up on the new host, and all was well.

Came on-line the next morning and found that my site had been replaced with a 'your account has been suspended' page. Received no explanation whatsoever via E-mail, so I contacted their support to find out what was wrong. It took the entire day before they got back to me, with no explanation, but at least they restored the site.

Over the next few days the site was up and down like a yo-yo, and tables in my database kept corrupting for no apparant reason. The site would work fine for some time, then would be down for half an hour, then up for five minutes, down for ten, and so on.

Today I logged onto the site in the afternoon and was greeted once again by a 'your account has been suspended' page. Contacted them yet again, and after 4 hours the site was restored, with no explanation E-Mail whatsoever. Following this I attempted to access SSH only to find they'd disabled my shell access as well - again without explanation.

After being with them for only 4 days I'm pretty fed up already. I'm tired of being E-Mailed by site visitors wondering why I'd been 'suspended' or to say that they can't get onto the site.

This host made no effort to explain what the problem was, and during all the experienced downtime, their network status page reported there were no problems.

99.99% uptime is a joke. I strongly recommend avoiding these people.

What is your site with them?

It's ok, i've got it transferred back to my previous host now, which i fortunately never left.

without stating what was hosted with them, you're just providing one side of the story. don't expect to get any sympathy here until you provide more...

I didn't come here for sympathy, the point of my post is to forward my experience with the abovementioned company for the benefit of anyone else who may be contemplating signing up with them.

I'm sorry but this is an idiotic comment. Why does it not 'add up' that I should want to join a web hosting forum in order to post something about my experience with a web hosting company ?

Dal - i think what most ppl are referring to is that you don't provide info about what domain you had or any other specific info. Without that, it's hard to believe you were even hosted with the mentioned company.

Sorry to hear about your experiences Dal. What site did you host there?

Out of curiousity why did you leave the host you later returned to?

I'm surprised by the level of skepticism I've met with here, I feel as though I'm being regarded as a complete liar, simply because this is the first time I've posted here.

I left my previous host because I needed more bandwidth and web space. Unfortunately they don't provide upgrades for these, otherwise I would have stayed with them.

Anyone who has been around these forums for awhile should be well familiar with ImHosted and their troubles.

You only need to do a "search" to see what I'm talking about. Its too bad that DAL didn't do that before signing up with them.

Anyway, no sense bashing him - its not like he's saying anything we haven't read before here regarding ImHosted.

Just move on to a better host.

Seems like you have a problem, infact you enjoy people bashing hosts i dont..

Had this been any other host, i would have posted the same because people spent time creating a business and one just comes to post that a host is bad, without any proof of service then its people like you that hold them head over heels and let them do that...

If you have a problem with what I post, then PM or email me, ive seen and delt with many people like you...

I must agree it doesn't seem fair that you're criticising someone for signing up and sharing their experiences. People sign up for different reasons. I know if I had a bad experience with a host, and I didn't already have an account here, I'd be signing up and posting to share my experience, to warn others.

If you check my first post i asked if "he signed up just to post this"...
He/She came back with his personal childish insult attempt..

I was not in the wrong, if he provides evidence of his claims that fine else ....

There has been many requests for him to post his website etc, but hes ignored that and provided no evidence that he ever hosted with them.

Its not rocket science..

Well I hope Dal realizes these are not the normal responses you should expect from starting a thread....

I have also had a number of problems recently. Were you on the server freedom? On Friday I received an email saying they were going to get a new server and install on 31. So I thought I would login to the control panel and take my backup files.

Guess what, the server was down. For three days! I sent an email and got a rather snappy response saying we sent all users an email about the new server. I sent a follow up question and have not heard back 4 days later.

It has not been bad enough for me to consider leaving yet, and I hope the new server means I wont have to. However I am now considering looking at other hosts just in case.

he still didnt tell us what domain he had hosted with imhosted.com :D

I have used Imhosted.com. I found them to be excellent in most areas. Very fast servers, lots of space+transfer in the packages. Sending a support ticket usually gets me a reply within 15mins to an hour. Overall I would give them high recommendations.

-- Sorry to sound harsh but maybe you violated their TOS? Did you spam thousands of emails? upload warez? illegal content? abuse resources?

-- You must of done something bad to get suspended. Maybe they explained it to you but you just felt mad and you are bashing them now. Maybe if you tell us your domain we will see what your site really says. :D
