View Full Version : am i paying too much?
trackers 06-02-2003, 01:30 PM currently i'm paying $50/month for 3GB space and 50GB bandwidth on a Dual Intel Xeon 2+Ghz Processorswith 2GB of RAM server, been pretty happy with it, i was just wondering what your opinion on this.
Am i paying to much or it is a fair deal? If its not, who would you recommend me?
Thanks all

Pipson 06-02-2003, 01:34 PM you can get that for about $40 i think, but if the server is good and so is the support i think its worth it
May i ask who is this host?
I think you can get better deals in the requesting forum
Eric Lim 06-02-2003, 01:37 PM It depends on the services you're getting from them; including service support, network reliability, etc.
I think $50 for 50GB is very fair price if the services are good, like you said you had been very happy with it.

Is the customer service acceptable. Is your uptime acceptable. Is the speed of you server and bandwidth acceptable?
If you answered yes to all of these then you are definately not paying too much.
trackers 06-02-2003, 01:40 PM oh i see, well the support is pretty good and fast, i can't complain, i got ssh access and when requested, custom modules can be installed for free as well.
The host is AlphaOmegaHosting
But i was wondering if i can get any better plan with that budget :)
trackers 06-02-2003, 01:43 PM wow, you guys are fast :D
Yes, server is fast, support is great but i'm greedy you know ;)
ps: its a reseller plan too, and i have another $25 for the bugdet, what do you guys think i can get with $75 bucks / month? what would be resonable deal?

Stick with what you have until you outgrow it.
Greedy = downtime in this business.
techxon.com 06-02-2003, 01:50 PM yes, stick with your current host. You always get what you paid for.
Pipson 06-02-2003, 01:52 PM I agree once you run out of space and transfer purchase more with that money you have.
trackers 06-02-2003, 01:54 PM thanks for all the input guys :)
I'm sure that if you put that in the request forum, someone would offer you the same package for $3.99 a year. Probably be the worst webhosting experiance ever.
$50 is a fair price, and if everything is working for you, I'd just stay put.
Pipson 06-02-2003, 04:07 PM $3.99 yearly for that, that is just .....
sprintserve 06-02-2003, 04:55 PM Looks reasonable. We would have charged more for that :) It boils down to the service you are getting. If you are happy, I don't see why you should move.
Wulex 06-02-2003, 05:03 PM yea, it's all abou t support, uptime, and userfriendliness :D
Cirtex 06-02-2003, 05:05 PM You can always find something cheaper, but if you are happy with the uptime and support and service then the extra $$$ is worth it :D
