I'd like to grab a PowerApp 120 from efreeservers, but I'm a bit concerned as to how much Dell might have "hacked-up" RedHat 7.x.
Most importantly, I'd like to confirm with PowerApp users whether or not they are able to install standard RPM packages, such as MySQL, qmail, compilers, etc...
Have you had any problems installing packages or compiling source? I want to compile Apache/PHP/mysql_auth among many other cool, powerfull, and free opensource apps. Is there any reason why this might not be possible?
Has anyone done a clean install of RH or any other flavor of linux on a PowerApp. Or, does one have to use the Dell install disks?
Is the PowerApp version of RH an enhanced version of RH, or a crippled version of RH?
Thanks for any feedback,
