Just announcing cobalt racks now will colo 1U sun/cobalt servers starting
at $75 per month this includes netra's and other solaris systems. Some restrictions apply, and it must be sun/cobalt equipment. This includes all chrages even bandwith (51Gig).

Just curious, why are you limiting it to only sun equipment?

We have an exclusive deal with Cobalt/Sun presently. As a result of this and the very large volumes of servers we purchase they give us
great prices. Also what did you have in mind? Linux does run on the
SPARC. However since Sun has swallowed cobalt and burped loudly we
may re-look at this but not in the near future.

I understand your servers are Sun/cobalt. But colo means someone sends you their server. So if someone has a homebuilt 1U server, you wouldn't allow them to colo it?

I'd like to... and in the future we may however we can't now :-(.... Perhaps in a couple of weeks.

It does have it's advantages... namely you can purchase sun equipment through us and colo it for considerably less than you could get it retail and in most cases wholesale. Our average order size is about $250K

We are presently an exclusive Sun shop.. so that we can keep our
prices as low as possible. Actually the more that I see the responses here the more I'm questioning that stand :-)... If not cobalts/solaris are you refereing to white boxes with Linux/NT/BSD on them? If so I can say that
this will be allowed in the future... but I'm not sure yet when.

You'd probably want to talk to Tom in our sales dept regarding the actual prices I'm more the technical side. However that sounds resonable, the RAQ3s are very very cheap presently. It's also will soon be imposible
to get more and we still do get requests for the $99 server more than anything other package. About 30% of my installed servers are RAQ3s
