Hi,

I need a new webhost with the following specs:

ASP
PERL (cgi)
Access
sendmail
high bandwith (100GB/Month)
good support (I have some bad experiences with webhosts before)

I cannot afford more than $100/month

Do I need a dedicated server?

Yes, you need a dedicated server with that much bandwidth. And I don't know of anywhere you find an NT based dedicated server (for ASP) in that price range. Good luck.

Windows based hosting is much more expensive that a *nix based. If you need 100 GB of bandwidth and only want to pay around $100 a month I would check out http://www.4webspace.com - although it is only Linux. Possible you can go for an ASP solution like ChiliASP.

You need to sit back and re-evaluate your requirements, you might find that you don't even need NT. If you'll like to tell us what you're looking to do we can give you some suggestions? What do you need 100GB transfer for? How did you come up with that figure? What are you currently using? What application are you going to run or develope? Tell us more and we can help you out more!

The reason I need a Windows server is that I write my own scripts in ASP for my website.

The reason I need so high bandwith is that I expect a huge amount of visitors. (My site contains a lot of graphics) The site I need the host for is www.liscreensavers.com The first weeks I need around 20-30 GB. When the number of visitors. I must be able to upgrade to a higher bandwith fast. I looked at hostpro and they charge $50/GB per additional GB.
Could you recommend me a company with lower rates.

With that amount of expected traffic, bandwidth + NT requirements.... Sorry, you'll have to go the other way and stretch your budget out further...

I need a new webhost in three weeks. How about "unlimited bandwith". I have read many threads telling me to stay away from them. I have had some good experiences with "unlimited traffic" before?
I will probalbly change host as soon as the income increase. Could you recommend me a host that offers "unlimited traffic"?

ALL hosts will have a cutoff point for bandwidth.

The honest ones tell you what is is. The dishonest ones don't.

http://www.rackshack.net and http://www.4webspace.com both have low end RaQ servers available for rent. Each comes with a large amount of bandwidth as well. I can personally recommend RackShack...

I found rackshack.net very intereting. The only problem is that they are using linux. Do you know of a similar host that are using Windows.

Do you know of a good site that review host-companies?

The RaQ 4 from rackshack.net includes the latest version of Chili!Soft ASP. This should be able to run your ASP scripts without any problems.

More information about Chili!Soft is available at http://www.chilisoft.com/
