I have some athlon processors in 1U cases. You need a good CPU fan and heatsink (I don't know one offhand). But you also need good cooling inside the cases. I still dont recomend the new dual systems there are still a lot of bios updates going on, we are just running this server thru tests right now, it was the first one in a 1 u case ever sold but all is good so far.
