hi guys,
how do I know what is my root password? isn't it the password that the company assigns you when you signed up for their server?
Depends on the company.....
Root should be the same as the admin password unless it has been changed. If you or your company do not have it, then you have two options:
1.) Bring the machine down to single user level and at the console reset the password -- I am not sure you can do this with Cobalt Linux though....
2.) Crack the password files.
There may be other options ..... but these are the two most common.
thanks, I just found it.... the admin's password works.
