Hi all,

Recently I enquired a host offering gud featured hosting. Since we want to have our own personalized name servers so we asked them if they could provide us with custom name servers for which they said they can not offer custom DNS but asked us to use Linux bind 8 DNS servers ..  Now I wonder what is this ... Is there a way out that I could use them and have my name servers reflected whenever I'm hosting my clients on their server ..

BIND is a program that actually provides DNS service. I think all you wanted was for them to create ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com and point them to their nameservers. But it seems they think you want to run your OWN nameservers.
