View Full Version : Taking Money From Spammers

What are some thoughts on 'find a host' type sites supporting big spammers like G L O B A T and H I V E L O C I T Y just to mention a few? These companies are obvious spammers and anyone that has been around for as little as a year knows it.

I leaned forward to get my credit card out and BAM right in my face, a big ad by a known spammer right where I decided not to place some ads. I don't want to be grouped into the same bunch. I don't think they should be allowed to place ads where honest companies compete for business. This allows them to increase brand recognition that lends credibilty to the SPAM they spew thus eventually placing the SPAM the spew into the "it's AOL, it's not SPAM" category!

It seems to me these companies have chosen to abuse the system. So there business and money should not be accepted by those in the mainstream.

I don't mean to go off on a rant here but...
This is like buying OJ Simpson autographed ninja knives with matching bloody gloves at Sports Authority.

IMHO... Any company that provides ANY service to SPAMMERS (except for maybe liquidation) should be pressured by boycotting services they provide and more.

Something needs to be done about it. SPEWS is a big joke. All they are doing is creating more ARIN paperwork!

Any ideas or thoughts on this?

Anyone care to wiegh in with some hosting SPAM that has landed in your box recently buy some of these known abusers and put some pressure on them?

Rackspace is extremely spam friendly. I would not recommend anyone using them from my own experiences in dealing with them.

The positive thing is that a majority of people already boycott spammers and would never buy anything from a company that competes that way. However, the whole idea behind spamming is simply a numbers game. If they sent out enough messages, then there will always be a few that actually buy into whatever it is that they are selling.

I've seen a few come in lately have been from here.

transworldwebsites.com

Contacted at freeweb.com (their upstream provider) and they are no longer online. It looks like they've had their server pulled.

forthebestt.com, Broughttwoyou.com, Usinfotext.com

Contacted xo.com and they pulled the server.

Now, here is a list of spammers all on one server. They are hosted on RackSpace, which is notorious for being spam friendly. I have emailed their abuse department multiple times and spoke with the same person by phone in their abuse department. They refuse to take them offline.

So who are a couple of good hosts when dealing with SPAM issues? atfreeweb.com and xo.com are both quick. RackSpace obviously doesn't mind the spammers and will apparently take money wherever and from whomever they can without regards to the rest of the Internet community.

I am pointing this at other companies that provide services to hosts. Like advertising for instance. I refuse to place my ad next to any of these companies. I am slo poiting out the ones that are a bit more in the spotlight and a much more obvious.

They are all a problem though.
