I am considering getting a Raq3 from 4webspace.com.
I heard good things about them, now I'd like to know how their support is. Could some of the customers share their experiences with problems?

Overall pretty good. I had one issue that was solved in chat, one that I emailed and got a response, and tech said he'd try to fix a certain thing, didn't hear back but I just checked and it was fixed (was 3 weeks ago, and the problem was minor and related to nameservers resolving to the wrong addresses when typed into a browser, just something that bugged me really).

The other issue was something they hadn't seen before, was forwarded it to Cobalt, haven't heard back since. Chances are it is something I did but I don't know exactly what/why and never got any word back about fixing it. Issue was nestled folders often coused by a bad symbolic link though it is happening in a place I never set one, ad really I have no clue as to what the problem is.

Well if you can wait long enough for someone to leave....

we're overall very happy with them, if somebody is in their chat issues are usually resolved immediatly, and email support works usually fine too, ie. ramupgrade was done 1/2 hour after ordered, and the additional raq we orderd last friday was up 15mins later :)

if email support doesn't reply w/ 3 days (unusal, but happens) either forwarding originally post (w/ tracking number) or going to the IRC chat helps to speed up things.

ns is another thing, as we can't use our cobranded ns at a bunch of .cTLD's because they can't implement (quote: "dont have time") a feature into DNS CP to define the SOA line ourselves

occassionally we're having problems w/ lags, but this seems to be a (annoying) problem at a sprint canada router... :(

when you ask about how they handle problems, the thing is what you expect from them - IMHO their job isn't to solve problems on the RaQ but keep it reachable as best possible...

Reboots are fast and via chat or phone, 24x7!

Uptime is excellent, except that my provider (@Home) uses ALTER.net... This is what my monitoring logs from qwkmon.com look like:

All times are UTC

Log begins Jun 1 06:08
Host returned error Jun 1 14:16
Host resumed status normal Jun 1 14:20
Host returned error Jun 1 18:48
Host resumed status normal Jun 1 19:12
Host returned error Jun 5 04:32
Host resumed status normal Jun 5 05:37
Host returned error Jun 11 09:34
Host resumed status normal Jun 11 09:38
Host returned error Jul 2 13:58
Host resumed status normal Jul 2 16:00

Uptime for monitored period is: 99.36%

Support is pretty good, a little slow at times, but their are so many resources out there for the RaQs that you can usually fix your own problems by doing a few searches.

I would definitely recommend them!

Support at 4webspace is mixed but generally it's top notch and you will not find another host like it. They far exceed what they are meant todo as a company. If things arent to your liking just say and something is done or they at least try to make it so everything is perfect for you.

I just love there Ram special :D

only problem, and reason I went with rackshack as opposed to them was because they do not have any raq3's available! You have to wait for someone ith a raq 3 to upgrade to a raq 4! (that was the story I was told)
so you might have to way anywhere from 2weeks to a month (if you are lucky ... since there are others in the queue!)

sooo since I needed a machine *now*, I went with rackshack and haven't regreted it yet ... signup was instantanious ( the way the web should work) ie I had access to my raq right after paying for it online!

I will keep the board posted over the long term :D
