Since CHARGE.COM use Leasecomm as the actual service provider (Charge.com is only a reseller) I really think you should read this before you sign up:

http://www.thecomplaintstation.com/l/leasecomm_toc.htm

I myslef used charge.com and am suffering for it to this day. I deal with three different companies when it comes to our merchant account, a bank, the actual processor, authorizenet, and leasecomm, it a nightmare in charges and fees!

Fred, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they using leasecomm as the leasing company (rather than reselling exactly) ? I mean, if you 'bought' the virtual terminal outright, then leasecomm would or wouldn't be involved. Most of the stories I read were about people leasing the physical credit card pads and boxes, or maybe the software, but I'm not sure a typical WHT member would be using them for that. Can you expand upon this?

I also use charge.com and never heard of leasecomm. I bought their virtual terminal outright (software and gateway provided by authorize.net, and is actually cheaper since I paid only $195 for the software while others using the same software would charge up to $495). Anyway, so far my account has been charged by ipayment technologies, inc ... not sure what the relationship between charge.com and ipayment .... Anyway, I haven't got any hidden fees as of yet ...

cheers,

OT:
Do anyone mind to tell me the start up cost and monthly fees after that for signing up with charge.com ? Just wondering...

With charge.com. there is no setup fee ... you can lease or buy the virtual terminal. If you decide to buy, it would be $195 for the virtual terminal with real time gateway (From authorize.net, the same software/gateway is sold for up to $495) ... Statement Fee are $10/mo ... Minimum discount fee are $25/mo (if you have transactions fees less than $25/mo, you would be charged $25/mo ... Otherwise, it's $0.35 transaction fee and 2.39% discount rate). Authorize.net will charge you another $15/mo for the gateway fee. So your total monthly minimum would be at least $50/mo, I believe ...

I think if you want to buy it from the start you are STILL buying it from LeasseComm. I can purchase the software right now if Id like to end my lease for about $1000. Charge.com is basically an affiliate of Leasecomm from what it looks like to me.

Just wait till you see all the fees each month adding up:
$15 from Authorize
$10 for statement
$xyz for the tranactions
$39.95 or whatever for the lease of the Authorizenet software

-ipayment is the processor between you and the bank
-the bank is PROBABLY still Humbolt aka Creditcards.com

I reall hope not, but what makes you _think_ I am dealing with LeaseComm? Besides, affiliate does not mean the same as reseller .... I will review my contract again, but I don't think I ever saw 'LeaseComm' anywhere in the contract....

-dave

$15 will be charged by authorize, that I know .... (though it won't be charged if I don't use it .... the first month, I did not use it and I did not get charged)
$10 for the statement, that I know ...
$xyz is at least $25, that I also know ...
I have received the second bills so far ... $35/mo each ... And, why would I pay $39.95 for the authorizenet software? I paid $195 to buy it upfront ...

Humbolt? I don't have that on the contrafct too ...

I am sorry, but probably you did not read the contract carefully regarding charges and was surprised latter? I don't have any suprise charges because I have anticipated all these charges ....

cheers,

So far, no surprise ...

Actually charge.com isn't that great of a deal...

For those of you with merchant accounts: What do you get charged to give a refund? If anything?
