Anyone ealse have problem with HOSTurbo.com?

My mail sever have not been working for a week,
Any FTP account I setup thru the Control panel
Does not work...
The Anonymous FTP does not work...

Anyone one ealse that is hosted by them please
let me know if you have the same problems...

I have contacted their support thru e-mail but they
so not seem to be very helpfull... they did however
fix the sub.domain problem I was having also..

They "said" they were working on the mail server
problem.. and totally ignored my FTP problems..:angry:

How personal is it when someone steal someone script code and try to sell it overhere as his own helpdesk script?

Does this mean that only the company/coder the script has been stolen from can post about it?

I was just pointing out someone to that thread. If you really want to moderate/censor please step into the advertisement forum and moderate that fraud that still posts there but doesn't do anything else like saying he his very sorry for his many "mistakes".

I thought this forum was also about warning people for things like that.

I signed up with them because a friend said they hang out here, So I figured support would be easy to get.
I am finding I could be wrong.

We are just trying to help you here. If you think that stealing someone elses script and selling it as their own is ok than I think you are very naive in thinking this guy can be good for your hosting needs. As you can see he doesn't respond to your requests. If I were you I'd take your losses and get a REAL host that doesn't steal everything he can get and it looks he steals your money too.

I would like to warn everyone before signing up with Hosturbo people ..Hostubo's office is in New Delhi India which is just 240 Kms from my city.

Now I have an interesting set of story which happened between our communication with these guys..When we heard about the attractive prices of Hosturbo we thought they might be trying to become the loss leaders and since in India the skilled support people are easily available so I thought it won't be a real big problem for them to offer the hosting on this price since they would be hosting on the US$99/PM- US$150 burst.net servers

I mailed them enquiring if they offer any reseller plans and custom name servers for which I got a mail that they do not offer reseller plans but they can offer me name servers. Now I mailed them about the payment mode and how would they accept the payments since on their website the only payment acceptance is in US$ and when I'm paying to some one in India from India I would prefer to pay in Indian Rupee. I asked them if they have any account in nationalized bank so that I may set up an instant transfer via web to their account . For which they replied me that they do not have any company account in any of bank but have a personal account of their CEO in whose account the remittance from revecom is transferred. I was shocked to hear this since any company who's running their operations needs to have at least their company account and then the money is never transferred atleast in CEO's personal account for which their reply was that they are trying to open but their application form for account creation in the major banks has been rejected twice and accroding to them CEO is the owner of the Co.
I was shocked to hear this as its not hard for any registred company in India to open a bank account ..now I asked them whether their company is registered or not ..for which they never replied....:confused: ..leaving me with an assumption that they are not even registered ...OOoohhh

I further enquired them that how the payment procedure would take place ... for which they replied that either I can send them a cheque / draft or money order lolz ..shocked and surprised I asked them that when they are into business of enabling business over the web how can they expect me to use the payment procedure which is slow like snail.Since in India any outstation cheque takes 10 -15 days to clear and money order is a real pain in neck ..and even that takes 3-4 days to transfer ..now that means I have to wait for 3- 4 days for my customer's account to get created :D ..for which they said that then I could pay them in US$ on their site..Surprised I asked them that the foreign exchange regulation act of India never allow any citizen of India to pay for their purchases in India in US$ and if they are not aware of this ????? again No reply ...:(

Now I again enquired them and asked for their other no as the no that they have given on their website doesn't appears to be a tell No of NEW DELHI ...another funny reply came ..they do not have tel no at their office they have a mobile whose batteries are dead.. neither they have any phone no.s at their home ...though they are expecting to get the phone installed very soon ..Now they claim that they are in business since December 2000 it looks fishy if they can not even get a telephone in 7 months..while I know in New Delhi you can get it in much much shorter time....

And now in answer to my recent mail they said that they'll call me up since their mobile is not working ..in the evening the fellow called up and informed me that they do not serve in India :confused: since they can only accept payment in US$ ....WOW !!! I have seen a first 100% Export oriented hosting co. in world who doesn't serves in its home nation...lolz ..they further informed that their servers are completely sold and now they do not have anything to offer ...Uhhh ..wonder if Hosts can really sell hosting like hot cakes :D ...

So finally they ended up with an excuse of not offering any hosting to Indians i wonder if they were scared or what ???? yeah they do know that i'm very regular at WHT ;) ...the final conclusion i got is that Hosturbo 1) Is not registered 2) Doesn't have a company account in any nationalized bank and works on a personal account of their CEO 3) Doesn't serves in its own country 4) Doesn't even have a telephone at their premises 5) Doesn't have a proper address at their website 6) whose 4 servers are completely sold :D ...guess I have to learn hosting sales from koolGURU ;) and make him my GURU :D ...so kool guru any replies ..to my questions ????

I always thought there was something behind them :D since the day they copyrighted other webhosting companies designs. Thank you for summing this up inquisitive.

I read the whole ICQ logs and I have to say any tech support helping you would probably go crazy themselves.

Problem wasn't with hostturbo, was with you deleting config files and asking weird questions repeatedly therefore pissing off your helper.

hehe I think that is why he refunded you so fast.

I do not agree with you, NO MATTER what the host should not doubt the customer, in this case i do not think helper ant was 'stupid enough' to delete the config files. Hosturbo should of addressed the matter in a more professional way with respect to helper ant.

hosturbo sold out all accounts? I just saw the new advertising in ads forum. Since he just skipped all the questions related to hosturbo, I tihink koolguru doesn't know that his communication with inquisitive was exposed here.

Actually coolguru is pretty cool (aside from copying other sites, scripts, etc...).

While the whole forum is following the HOSTurbo saga waiting for the lynch mob to locate and finish the victim, he is capable of staying detached and not being drawn into an argument or apology mode. And the mods can't kick him out because he's not breaking any rules and he's not admitting any wrongdoing (didn't some presidents choose this route?). He just keeps doing his thing, making money.

And you know, he's not obligated to give refunds. He states very clearly in his site in bold red letters that he doesn't give refunds for whatever reason http://www.hosturbo.com/policy.html (www.hosturbo.com/policy.html)

Most reasonable people know that when you pay only $20 per year for a loaded package like HOSTurbo's there must be something missing. So they take a risk willingly. And it's not a bad gamble. If say they feel they have a 50-50 chance of their site running smoothly they save about 80% of the cost over an established, respected host..

So 50% chance of saving $100 vs 50% chance of losing $20. Nice odds. And remember, not everyone who hosts with coolguru is unhappy, it's just that the unhappy ones are more vocal. If he cleans up his act (no more stolen sites, scripts, better support, etc) he'll do just fine. And all that working (probably solo) from his house in India!!!

I think that for example hosters that steal scripts and try to sell them here to ALL users must be banned and not given the oppertunity to make use of this forum to make money. He is ripping of people on this board so why is it that he still can post about his ****ty hosting business? We proofed he is a fraud (STEALING SCRIPTS!) so MODS do your thing and stop his ripping off. You owe it to the visitors here with less knowledge about his ways of doing business wich isn't more than stealing.

2. He never exlained why he stole a script and sold it in his own name.
3. Stealing copyright designs.

What does he mean he does not "think" that's what anonymous FTP is for..
I have used it in the past to share files with friends and for them to send me files...
When you logged into this anonymous FTP there were like 6 folders not one incoming and you could not download or upload to any of them!

Well I did not have a problem with this...
But the fact I could not login to my FTP
to save files I needed.. was unreal...
Why did he not just fix my FTP password problem and let me in to save stuff? hummmm

I also have a high cost host that I am a Moderator for their forums, and Support for their customers....
Guess I should stop helping their customers because I am so stupid eh? ADW and inquisitive.....

I'm sorry if you took it so hard ..but my intention was never to prove you wrong I just meant that you were acting a little bit impatient ... as far as hosturbo is concerned.... please have a look at my posts in the same thread about hosturbo...

I'm afraid my message was misunderstood...i believe even the host is a human being ..so the errors are quite normal if same happen once.and he should be given the time to rectify it.....you just produced your single conversation between him and you and never told about the whole series...and in your chat you just acted a lil bit impatient ...anyways ..don't have hard feelings ...I respect and try to learn something from everyone on this Forums.including you ....excluding ppl like hosturbo ;) ...(but would definatly try to learn from him how he was able to sell 4 servers in a short period of time :D :D

Is this koolguru guy banned from WHT yet?

I understand that he is not obliged to comment on his actions, and apparently he hasn't violated any WHT user terms, but I personally feel that a host in his position should either post an explanation/apology, or stop posting completely, even if it's only in the advertising forums.

If WHT's Favourite Son Josuee (y'know...the host in a certain shade of blue...) were to post only in the advertising forums and ignore all questions posted to him, I'm sure that he would be banned as well.

I think everyone's opinion has been clearly stated. There are a lot of useful information in this thread that can be used to make judgements. I doubt koolguru will even reply in this thread. I think there's no need to keep this thread open anymore for that reason. If you think otherwise, email the mods and let us know why.
