What's the best fully featured free forum that can be downloaded for personal use on the net. So far I've only found Ikonboard to be of any good use, know of any others?

There is XMB Forums (http://www.xmbforum.com/index.php). I've not tried it, but it looks nice and it's free.

what are the differences between vB lite and Ikon? vB lite and regular vB? Is it easy to upgrade from vB lite fo vB w/o losing posts, etc?

Thanks!

My vote is for phpBB. Do a search for other threads on this topic.

vB lite is just like the free UBB version. Used mainly just to see if vBulletin will work on your server. Doesn't have very amny features.

As Woody said, you don't want to use vBull Lite as an actual forum.

It looks amazing for only a month in building it.

Hello

I have tested many of them.

I suggest phpBB if you use unix. Mos of webhosting firms only accept phpBB and vBulletin.

If you want to tun on windows, best choice may be snitz froums.

But I strongly suggest either vBulletin ( if you want to pay) or phpBB (if you don't want).

Mac
