Hello all

I'm trying to install redhat on a spare machine to practise admin.. and it wont install!!

The error it gives:

running anaconda - please wait...
exec: Input/Output error
install exited abnormally
sending termination signals... done
send kill signals...done
disabling swap...
unmounting filesystems... /mnt/runtime
/mnt/source unmount fail()
/dev/pts
/proc

you may safely reboot your system.

How do I get around it?

Thanks
Darren

I think you should be installing a pretty new version of RH. Try to "read and check" the image before installing.

Downloading from dialup? Then most likely you have a bad image. I took a search on google and found several discussion about this. Most of them were caused by a damaged image or inappropiate media drive.

You might try installing in text mode.

i believe this was a bug with redhat 7.0 or maybe 7.1, i would get 7.2 or 7.3 or search for the anaconda fix on redhats site. There is a download to fix that issue.
