I'm using Cpanel 6.4.2, and would like to know if there's a way that I can upload a tar file and untar it using the Cpanel interface. I have a very large site to create, and creating it manually from the Cpanel file manager would be quite painful.

You should be able to FTP the tar onto the server, and unpack it using the file manager in Cpanel. Is it that you can't find the file manager?

No, I just didn't see an "unpack" option within the file manager. But then again, I hadn't tried uploading a tar archive, because I thought I couldn't untar it.

I haven't used it in some time, but I believe you just navigate to the file, and select it on the left, an on the right will be a choice to 'extract', or something like that..
