well i m new to this... now i m not planning to start a web mail service... but would like to give some a/c's to people in our organization...

i have site... but the host allows me to Create forwarders and pop3's whose password only i can change (admin) and not restriction of space to an a/c can hold...

so how do i make it like web mail services do... if i make 10 a/c's with 1 MB each then i would need 10 MB of free space always ....... so how do these guyz: hotmail, with millions of users, work it out...

i know they own servers with multiple hdd's but still... its too much, must be something else?
