Hi,

I am a bit confused on a sort of DNS problem.

My server stops responding after 10 days and i need t manually kill the named process and restart it to get it going as before. The server load is almost nil.

The named suddenly start taking 95% of CPU usage and a very high RAM usage and everything is in standstill. Otherwise my server behaves very nicely and without any problem.

Is this any attack ?

Any suggestion are welcome.

Your running Plesk right ? There is an update at the plesk site long time ago...

We are using Plesk.

Where can we get the update ? Can you please point me to the same. Or if you have a downloaded copy, can i get it.

I have seen 90% of the times when named is going crazy like that, you are either being attacked or you have already been hacked. Make sure your system is secured and has not been violated.

ohhhh yeah :) that happened to me when i was slow to update my old BIND *grin* update quickly before you get attacked into limbo :)
