I am trying to get a dedicated server. However I want to be sure that my server is hosted in a fast connection e.g:OC12or at least T-3. Is there any way that I can find out the connection of a given NOC (other than asking the company's support team)
Also if I get hosted in a company that has only a T-1 connection, is it bad or its ok?

My site is going to be using about 1Gig/day of transfer. Will a T-1 connection be enough?

thanks in advance

Most people need to be clarified with regards to this ... It's right that OC12 is a bigger pipe than a T3 and even a T1. But, what really matters is not how big the pipe is, but what capacity that pipe is running at. For example, a OC12 running at 99% capacity may in fact be slower than a T3 running at 20% of its capacity. Also, a T1 is not really great, but it might still server your purpose well. In fact, when Burst starts its own NOC, I believe it started with a (if not two) T1. But a T1 is much easier to get saturated than a T3, and hence ... choosing an NOC with a T3 is more prefereable than that having only a T1 (assuming both are not running close at its saturation point, whatever that is).

1G/day is about 30GB/mo ... that means if your site is hosted off a T1, then your site will be using 10% of the whole bandwith already .... And since most certainly your site is not the only site hosted off that T1, I will suggest you to find a different provider. There are a lot of providers having hundreds of Mbps connectivity and yet they are still affordable.

Anyway, hope this helps ...
