2Grumpy 05-26-2003, 12:39 AM We lived in a haunted house about 4 years ago (I'm actually trying to buy that house now, haunted or not I loved it).
Let's see...
My wife was alone in the house sitting at the keyboard (music not computer) and a shadow walks along the wall, in a room lit by overhead lights (overcast outside).
I was in the kitchen several times when the cabinet doors would pop open by themselves, open about halfway and close back (not completely to where the little lock locked) like someone was looking for something.
Wood floors, can't tell you the # of times those floors creaked while no one was on 'em, maybe not ghosts, but it seemed to happen an awful lot.
Our tv, it constantly cut itself on (or off) in that house, I owned that tv for 2 years before we moved there, and we just now this year retired it to the kids room, it has NEVER done that any other time but it did it ALL the time in that house. It's nothing fancy just a basic 27" stereo TV. I might chalk it up to a neighbors remote but this house was a fortress, the builder (1954 build date) was the owner of the (then) largest concrete company in Alabama, the walls were 14" concrete blocks, the beams in the roof were 8 inches by 10 inches, I just can't see the neighbors remote getting thru those walls. We once sat thru a near miss with a tornado and we didn't even hear it, cept for a tree limb smacking into the window!
Eric Lim 05-26-2003, 01:37 AM I've got couple of those stories (I don't really want to recall them), some I know you guys are not going to believe, but I do.
5 years back, a friend of mine, not too close but we know and talk in a daily basic, seriously injured in a gangster fight around my neighborhood. Poor him, he got himself paralysed from that fight. I pretty much know which group of people did it. Fine, the very same day there four other guys (in that group whom I think they began the fight) died in a car accident. I was talking on the phone, was cursing these four people. Out of a sudden, the phone went disconnected. The another house (about 45 degree from my house backyard to the right) suddenly turn into red color, the whole damn house turned into red. Freak, there scared the hell out of me. Threre was a guy sitting at the roof and calling me.
:bawling: :bawling: :bawling:
Spent a couple weeks sleeping in my parents' room with them till I have the guys to step into my own room. There was the most freak out thing I ever experienced in my life.
shaunewing 05-26-2003, 05:26 AM There was a house we moved into in 1997 which I swear was haunted.
Weird things happened that include:
- Phone ringing and nobody there
- Computers mysteriously rebooting
- Drawers on the various CD players (both stereos and on computer) would open and close themselves.
- We'd be sitting with the cat on the lounge and all of a sudden the cat would start hissing and run out of the room.
- Both my mum and sister have woken up at night in their respective rooms seeing an "old man" at the door.
All these weird things stopped happening when we moved out of the house.

TalonKarrde 05-26-2003, 05:47 AM Interesting, a thread like this popped up in my forums yesterday. I'll copy over some of the posts :)

We'll I believe in them.
#1. When I was about 4, in the middle of the might I woke up and saw this women in white standing in front of my bed. If my memory serves me right, she said something like "Don't be afraid, I am with you." That morning I told my parrents, in the afternoon we get this call saying that one of my relatives died in the middle of the night. What you think of this?
#2. Every once in a while I see this white blur in my house for less than a second that looks like my grandpop. During the night sometimes I hear the floor creaking, and no its not my mom, dad or sister, I can tell when they get up. Strange thing about this is my mom also sees white blurs and hears odd noises.
I will not go down in my basement without anyone home, because my grandpop used to run a bar down there and I hear wierd noises down there every once in a while.
One day I was walking through my house and a hanging ceiling light swaying, I was the only one home and none of the windows were open. It continued for about a half a hour and then stopped.

I believe they can exist yes, however not in a good form. I used to live in an old house that used to really scare me. I'd hear the regular foot steps at night, cracking etc etc. But it's what my parents said that scared me.
They said that they once hear horses outside. Keeping in mind we used to live no where near horses, and no one in the right mind would ride a horse in the middle of night during the winter.
There were some other creepy stuff as well.
However, I believe that these 'ghosts' and 'spirits' are demons. Etc.
Unless you see an Angel, which if you did, I'm guessing you'd be 100% sure you know it's for real :p
Now for mine...and I must say, this really disturbed me for a long time...

Mmmm. Fellow believers.
Though I have to agree with Stealth on the no good thing. And since I don't believe in angels, all things are bad if they are supernatural.
On one of those typical urban legend dares of staying the night at an abandoned house, I had the misfortune of going along. There was 7 of us.The guy who had used to own the house killed his children in it. During the night, the guy staying in the room where the children's bodies had been found heard babies crying. As did the others in the adjacent rooms. I was in the trashed living room, and I had the same dream over and over again. It was the room, in perfect detail - and there's no way I could have remembered it that well - there was blood dripping from the cracks by the wall against the room where the children were murdered. It was too thick for me to hear any sounds coming from the room, but it was definately odd. I believe something haunted the house, the echoes of past deeds done. The night was definately the weirdest, and definately scariest, of my life.
A friend of mine was out of town with his cousins, and some of their friends, mostly female. They were wandering around the town, and some gang members started following them. They ducked into an abandoned hostpital. He swore he and his cousin heard the sound of stretchers being rolled down the halls and some of the others claimed to hear the morgue drawers opening and closing. They would have left, but the gang had set up outside, so they had locked the doors and closed up alot of the windows.
The thread devolved from there, and others started talking about how they were ghosts and such... Oh well.
TheHawk 05-26-2003, 08:02 AM My uncle lived in a house that was haunted a couple of years ago, i was a skeptic but after most of my family had experienced strange events in that house i started to beleive it. I dont realy want to recall the story as im almost off for the night but basicly the story is that he rented a room out to a girl and her boyfriend. It was a very old apartment from 1850 (give or take a few years) He started having very weird dreams and they were identical to the girl he rented the room too. Several people tried to commit suicide in the house and well im getting scared so i'll leave it at that.

ENSupport 05-26-2003, 08:39 AM Damn, freaky stories :[. I belive in ghosts too but i dont like it when they start doing crap, I would probably freak out if i was one of you. I mean .... whats some crazy stuff. Thanks god i only have bed and computer reboot :P Whew!. Its pretty cool that you dont really die after your life, imagine beeing invisible and going in some chicks house hehehe. BTW Hospital story is really cool makes me want to visit one of hospitals with alot of freinds its true many people die in hospitals :-x
TalonKarrde 05-26-2003, 02:36 PM lol, after playingn Silent Hill 1/2 I would have gonen insane in that hospital. I'd remember what happens in SH and take my chances with the gang.
Joe Bonanno 05-26-2003, 03:00 PM My wife and I think the house we are in now is haunted.
We have had the light switch in our bedroom flick on twice after we had turned lights out for the night. Heard footsteps on our wood floors often. Heard loud knocking at the front door in the middle of the night with no one there (thank God this has only happened a few times in six years).
My wife gets pretty scared. I just tell her it's Casper the friendly ghost.
As for the life after death stuff. Who knows? It would be comforting. It may be a natural phenomenon we just don't understand. Leonard Nimoy did an "In Search Of" show years ago in which it was postulated that ghostly activity my be scientifically explained by some kind of electromagnetic resonance that doesn't dissipate over time.
Of course, this would not explain the ghosts that seem to really interact with us. :D
ENSupport 05-26-2003, 10:51 PM "My wife gets pretty scared. I just tell her it's Casper the friendly ghost." Classic :]
TalonKarrde 05-26-2003, 10:56 PM You hear of haunted "insert place here" all the time, yet rarely do you hear of these things doing bodily harm.
That's of some reassurance, I guess.
