Hi

Sorry to bother so much. But I am taking this very serious. On year 1 would like to know this time, How many customers you needed to breakeven.

I know this will vary according to expenses and magnitude of operation.

I will like the opinion of those that started a SOHO with 1 server and 400-500 GB mo bw...

Did u finished year one of operatins in red or with profits?

Thanks again

It's obviously going to depend on your costs and the price you charge for your plans. Too many variables for an open-ended question like this. Theoretically, you could have one client who uses all your resources and pays you handsomely for it.

I think if you stated the cost of your server, bandwidth and support you would get more valuable responses.

Also, many people start on a reseller plan and only move to a server once they have a better idea about their resource demands/cash flow.

I voted around 40..

Thats just a general idea.. It takes about 40 clients per server to pay for the cost of the server and software per month.. That doesn't include administration costs or support..

I'm also talking about average clients $10-$15/month.. Anything after 40 clients generally goes to paying for other things in the business..

With 20 customers, I'd say you can get in the greens, and out of the reds :)

(server cost + bandwidth overages + support costs + admin costs + overhead) / ((average plan cost) * (cheapest plan / most expensive plan)) = approximate number of users to breakeven.

My calculation system anyway :)
