Ok.
So i am looking at HostPro.
It has been HIGHLY recommended to me.
And its also #1 on TopHosts.COM

So i assume its professional, and excellent product.

Is it just me or is this just another one of those 'Unlimited BandWidth' Plans?

The VServer NT Pro is our best selling product. It offers the best NT server product available on the market. It includes all our available technologies, features, and premiere services, and boasts no charge for bandwidth usage

Let me know.
It seemed kinda odd.
But its such a reputable company.

Thanks!

I had accounts with VServers since they were still a reseller of iServer (1995?) (iServer eventually merged with Verio). VServers a while back also merged with HostPro. VServers has very good support and their uptime is very good.

However I would say take time out to check other hosting companies and read through messages on this board for some time. You will be suprised to find out much better and much much cheaper offers.

thanks!

my main concern though is wether their claim that
'they boast no bandwidth charges'
is bull**** like all these hosts that offer so called 'unlimited bandwidth'

or wether or not hostpro actually does deliver this since its such a well regarded company.
thanks!

You probably are seeing their old pages or it could be an old text that was not edited. Last time I looked they have bandwidth clearly capped for each package.

Contact them and ask what the real limit is. I'm sure there is one and I'm sure they'll tell you. Lot's of hosts offer plans like this that have "no charge for bandwidth" but that doesn't mean unlimited. What it means is they don't tell you what the limit is, but if you go over it they'll make you upgrade to the next package.

Some people actually like this because they don't need to worry about a big unexpected bandwidth bill at the end of the month. The additional bandwidth charge is huge at hostpro. They charge $.05 per meg = $50 per Gig! I'd guess that on that plan your real limit will be around 20G.

I was with HostPro for a while and have mixed feelings about them. The uptime and speed was good and support was generally pretty good. I wouldn't use them for anything which relied on MySQL since they were unable to keep it from "too many connections" errors. They're fairly expensive too. I'm sure you can find someone else cheaper and probably better.

Hi

On the Vserver Pro products the monthly bandwidth is 15 gigs

Our experiences with them have been generally very good.

As mentioned some of the NT & Win2K support can be spotty

We have dedicated servers and 25 virtual servers with them and overall, we are quite pleased

Hope this helps
