View Full Version : Bug with editing the subject line?

I edited a message and changed the subject and message body. The old subject line shows up in the message listing but the new one shows up when you click on the message. Is this a vBulletin bug?

I have edited the main title now. You can email moderators@webhostingtalk.com and ask them to change it if ever need it again :)

Thanks :) Is it a vBulletin or WHT bug?

It's not a bug - thread titles aren't "editable" after a couple minutes

Yeah.. been like that for some time now.

It was editable - like I said it showed up in the message itself, just not in the message list.

After X amount of minutes - the thread title is really the post title (and that's what is editable) - since yours is the first post in the thread - they just call it the thread title (that'd be the bug part) when you really are only able to edit the post title.

Confused? Me too :(

Perhaps someone can explain it better than I.

Every post you make has a subject field, where you are able to make a title if you are so inclined. For the first post in a thread, the subject field is required because it is not only the post title, but it is the thread title as well.

After a specified amount of time you can still edit the subject field of the first post, but it will only edit the post title (black title that appears above every post) and not the thread title.
