Please write any good or bad experience you had with catalog.com. I am thinking of getting a server from them but I am not sure about the quality of service and level of support.

Dexter 07-05-2001, 05:58 PM well had good and bad experience ;) In the 8+ months i've been with them overall I would rate them as a very good company... - good - friendly and fast support, sale, etc fast network stable linux servers (average uptime for us has been 30+ days) got a free month of hosting after complaining about network problems back in december... after asking them about lowering my bill since they were selling comparable systems for less they cut $40 off... - bad - intermitent network problems in the past. not that bad but from time to time network did drop for short period of times. a month ago their noc lost power and stayed down for over 12 hours. blammed on lightning frying out backup generators. node9 07-05-2001, 07:40 PM i had a chance to admin a catalog server months and months ago From what I saw and the tech support I talked to @ catalog, it was very fast, stable, and they were reliable. I had some problems with the network connections during last couple of months, but now it seems to be okay and very stable. Seems they had a bad time. Otherwise support is great. Scott replies quite fast and provides nice support. Chris was kind enough to cut off $40 from my plan when they reduced their rates and I requested. Overall i will rate them 7/10 Regards Abhishek |
