You should have received confirmation of this a couple days ago... I'm going to look into why you never got that email. Sorry about the trouble. You seem pretty big, and popular, but yet you only have e-mails posted, i think it'd make alot of your customers happy if they could contact you via phone. just my two cents Matt Lightner 07-05-2001, 04:49 PM Originally posted by node9 Why don't you have a phone number for Site5? You're certainly correct in that if setup correctly, telephone support can be a valuable asset to a company's customer interaction offering - however there are many companies who don't offer good telephone support, and IMHO, good email/helpdesk/forum support beats out poor phone support any day of the week (and twice on Sunday). You can see many companies here who provide a means of phone contact and still have a great deal of complaints against them. I remember a recent post from yourself regarding poor telephone service that you received from a certain company here (;)). On the other hand, there are plenty of companies who don't have phone support and still manage to provide outstanding customer service (FutureQuest, for example - who only recently implemented a "voice mail only" system). Perhaps one of the main reasons that we don't offer phone support is because our staff is spread throughout the nation/world (with one of our sysadmins living in the UK). Finding a phone system that meets all of our needs while still being cost effective is no easy task. Of course there are always going to be people who prefer to speak to a "live human" - regardless of what the rest of the service is like. Unfortunately for these people, Site5 may not be the right provider (no company can be the right provider for everyone). We do, however, provide a multitude of alternative contact methods (email, helpdesk, community forums, an online paging service, ICQ for dedicated server customers), so it's not as though we're hiding from our customers - it's exactly the opposite in fact. That's not to say that we aren't planning to add telephone support in the future (in fact, it is currently one of our top priorities), it's just that we haven't yet found a feasible way of doing so. Rest assured that when we finally come up with a way to offer a quality phone support system (quality being the key word), we will certainly add this to our growing repertoire. Hope that answers your question! Best Regards, Matt Lightner mlightner@site5.com MCHost-Marc 07-05-2001, 06:06 PM Everything okay now. I got Matt's eMail almost an hour after he sent it ...must have been hanging around somewhere :D |
