Whenever I try to burn a music disc with Nero, and it's wizard I always recieve a "power calibration error" and I have no idea what's causing it :(

9:15:05 PM #40 Phase 38 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1550
Burn process failed at 12x (1,800 KB/s)

9:15:05 PM #41 Text 0 File Scsicmd.cpp, Line 386
SCSI not using temporary buffers
20 out of 20 temporary buffers allocated

Is what I got in the log file right before the errors.

Tried burning at half the speed of the burner?

Yeah. It still fails.

Have you tried using different media? I bought some cheap CDs once and had the same problem. Switched to a different kind and it worked fine.

Have you recently installed or upgraded Nero?

Nope.

I am using the exact same spindle of cds I used when my cdrw drive was fuctioning correctly.

All of a sudden, it locks up during burning (eek!), and fails always with nero and myhp cd burner app.

Nope.

I didn't install, update, or modify anything within the last two weeks, and just one week ago it started to screw up.

Anyone know if there is a program to "recaliberate power" for cdrws?
