Hi All,
I have ordered a server (special offer one) to
Burst.Net last week. On Monday, Sean told
me that it will be ready on Tuesday Afternoon
since the hardware arrived Tuesday morning.
On Wednesday, I fired a sales ticket.
But there is no answer, until today. :(
[They have charged my CC].
Anyone has the same problem?
[Sean, if you read this thread, my order quote
is #29754].
anto.

Anto, wednesday was a public yesterday here in USA ... It was July 4th, the Independence Day ... So if you don't get any reply from them since yesterday, it might be normal ... Expect to get a reply from them soon though :)
cheers,

Oops..sorry.. I didn't realize that.
But I hope they will send me an activation email
today (or tonight in my country).
Thanks.

As a humerous aside you've gotta love the dedication of their accounts staff billing him on a National Holiday ;)

Out of curiosity is it normal for a host to charge someone for a server before its setup, i know our billing department waits until the servers setup and has been running a couple of days before doing it, to make sure the customers happy, i thought this was standard for all providers, am i incorrect in this assumption??

I can see why they would. This way they can make sure it's a valid credit card and the charge will go through. I'd hate to order a new server and spend time setting it up only to find out we can't bill the customer.

uhm
can you not verify credit cards without charging them?

You sure can, whats more is you shouldnt be accepting a setup order from a customer who doesnt look legit, we scan our orders with a predefined set of rules, as long as they meet that criteria we setup their server immed. then charge the card, if it looks fishy we make them provide forms of ID etc.. at the worst a provider in my opinion should do a authorization but i feel its bad practice to capture the funds before the server is setup and online.
Guys,
Thanks for all the comments.
I just checked with my email, and there is
an email that I expected from Burst.Net. :)
