View Full Version : My experiences with Wisehosting.net

I'd like to warn others of Wisehosting.net. I'd signed up for Wisehosting.net a few months ago because of their good prices on their plans. What started out as decent service and support has totally resulted in NONEXISTANT support and bad business practice.

There were times where the server went down and I never got an e-mail notifying me nor a status update as to what happened afterwards (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=124088). Their advertised 24/7 support became ZERO support as their live tech chat is OFFLINE everytime I checked. Their support ticket system resulted in no replies. If I got any, they would be days later.

In April, they started billing me duplicate charges on my credit card. I had 2 separate accounts on there. There were duplicate charges for both and one charge that was the combined sum of both too. Once again, I attempted to contact them. No luck. I posted the problem here and Sina (someone who works there) replied and offered to fix the problems.

Now I'm looking at my bill again and there are about 10-12 duplicate charges for the end of April and May. . I've sent a total of 3 e-mails now after first noticing them at the end of May. I've only had 1 reply that said they'll get someone on it. That was several days ago. The charges are STILL on there today so I had to call up my CC company to reverse the charges found in April. I can't reverse the ones for May yet as they're not about due yet.

Sina, If you read this, I'd like all the erroneous charges reversed ASAP. Also, please close my account.

Also make sure you tell your credit card company to not accept ANY charges from them again as some will not do it automatically and you will be back to square one next month when you get billed again.

I've already asked them to do that and they said they can't. They can reverse incoming charges and dispute them. I told them I'd like to close that credit card account since I don't use it anymore. The only recurring bill on their was from Wisehosting. They said even if I close my card, Wisehosting would still be able to charge to it since I gave them authorization. This is Amex btw.

Anyhow, Sina has replied to my e-mail and said charges are being credited now. I'll just have to wait and see if they've fixed it.

Damage,

Since we had changed our merchant account from 2checkout to our own (through modernbill) the invoices sitting in modernbill were processed for 10-15 clients which we hadnt manually paid them according to their 2checkout payments.

We emailed you and apologized for this and told you that all charges have been refunded.

Whenever we had a downtime we have emailed our clients. This is why we say dont place the email address you have hosted through us in your contact records.

Anyways the downtimes were from a long time ago and I do see that you like to bring us down for unreliable reasons. According to your post you are unhappy with our service, please email me and I will cancel your account so that you can find a better place to host your site according to your needs and demands.

And I should say as far as support your statements are completely false. Please post any ticket number that has not been responded to in less than an hour.

Thank You very much

Sina,

Sina,
I just got this email from a former reseller client of yours that is also a friend of mine:

"Hi rick
Still some problems with sina

I tried to block him with my bank
The payment was rejected 4 times
Then this *******(edited due to explicit language) changed the name of billing then he finally
Billed me.

What to do ?"

Sebastien "

You need to take care of this situation and stop billing people who repeatedly ask you to cancel. He got involved with your company because of me and quite frankly this is getting embarassing. I do not want to get in an argument here, I just want you to do your job and cancel a customers account as he has requested.

I guess it's time for me to reply here as well. I have always been very satisfied with Wisehosting, but the situations described above are painfully true and frustrating. It is normal that this is getting public here, especially because the situation does not seem to improve.
This company keeps billing me (6 times last month, again 4 times this month). I understood that they are having problems with a new billing system. That is fine with me, but there was absolutely NO communication about this matter. I NEVER received any information about this. I did not know about this excessive billing until I received my CC statement many weeks later. What I feel here is that this company has no intention at all to notify their duped customers about what is going on. It is up to US to take steps and ask questions. Communication is terrible and frustrating.

I cancelled my two accounts. It took me several emails to cancel one. Nevertheless I was billed again for an account that was not active anymore. The second one is still active after three cancel requests. Today I logged in I noticed that there is again an open invoice. They just don't cancel my account ! It is really painful !

Yes, Sina replied to me shortly a few times. That they were sorry and that I would get a refund. It is somewhat the same answer that a friend of mine received. I am also embarrased that I tipped a friend to join Wisehosting.
Until now there are no refunds at all and the billings continue.
I never received a reply from sales that confirmed my cancel request.

So, I spoke to my bank and they immediately blocked my card permanently. A new one is sent to me. It will take about two weeks. I am getting extremely frustrated about these situations.

Nevertheless it is simple :
1. INFORM your customers in case of such important problems
2. Arrange refunds ASAP and don't wait till someone ask you.
3. When someone asks you to cancel, DO IT !
4. Communication is crucial !

I also don't want to start a yes/no discussion here. Just do what you are supposed to do and simply terminate ALL my accounts.
I am not hoping for refunds at all. I guess it will not be possible anyway because my card is blocked.
Also I am a foreigner (Dutch), so can't take legal steps...

Without real experience of this hosting company I'd image they should check the cron job that runs ModernBill to make sure it running correctly.

It looks like you have dialogue going now. Sina and you should start trying to resolve any issues via email. Keep copy's of all corespondance.

Good luck in solving your problems.
Cheers
Jeff

No need to be embarrased, Didge.
Wisehosting looked ok back then.

This is the history.
My account @ 8.95$ was billed 6 times in april and 2 times in may.
I informed them of that error on 05/05 (the day I got my bill from visa)

No answer, so I repeated the question on 10/05

I got an anwer saying they were sorry and would refund within 4 days :D

After 8 days nothing :(
so again I sent a mail (19/05)

I instantly got a reply (20/05) saying they were going to give me my money back. :D

Again nothing happend, so on 28/05 I again sent them a mail and got no reply to this day.

I sent them a last mail....to close my account.

You do not know how relieved I am! I experienced the EXACT same problem with Wisehosting.

I tried to close my account a few months ago..getting absolutely NO response to my e-mails. Then in April I was charge 7 times, 5 times in May! I got into the Live chat and they had told me they would refund me and close my account if I provided them with the info they needed. So, I send them the info they need. However, I still haven't gotten any response from them. It's been 2 weeks.

I filed an affidavit with my bank to reject all charges from Wisehosting. Close my account! =/ I do NOT enjoy paying $200 for a service I do NOT want and do NOT use. Extremely bad costumer service. Wisehosting has to be one of the worst companies I have ever dealed with. Period.

Again I've been charged on my account.
No reply to my question to close the account, no reply to my question to give me my money back.

My bank told me that rejecting the charges is no use if the company doesn't cooperate. In my case and also Stings we are Europeans and taking legal steps will lead us nowhere.
It is getting clear that Wisehosting doesn't cooperate here. They completely ignored all our cancel requests and the charges simply don't stop. Sina did reply by email that they refunded all charges... that was weeks ago but nothing happened.
On May 24 I received a message from Sales that all my accounts have been cancelled.
When I log in on my account today I see that the package is still active !! And... another invoice to be paid (Total due : 1)
They must be joking !

The bank permanently blocked my card and sent me a new one. I also filled in an affidavit but there's not much hope. I remember that there were more promises for refunds months ago when the server was down for several hours. I NEVER got one !
If there is anyone here that did receive refunds please let us know.
Thank God for this forum...

Maybe you need to switch banks. The onus is on the business to provide documentation of a transaction if it is disputed

same here!

billed 8 times in 2 months

contact with my bank company, they will demand the money back from wisehosting. As in the contract they can only bill 1 time.
But as didge and sting35, i'm european, so it'll be much more difficult

I've sent many mails, got rare reply's. I've sent a very mad one, still waiting for the reply

think sina is quiet nowadays :flame:

No anwers to my mails, no answers to my ticket I registered.
I think Wisehosting is trying to get as much cash as they can get from us. :bawling:

Still no refund,
account is still active.

Why does this have to be so difficult?

They've made a mistake.
Everybody can make a mistake.
But why does it have to take so long to correct them?

I have similar experiences when it comes to billing with Wisehosting.net. My luck was that my credit card got expired right at the time they wanted to rebill me.

I've cancelled my accounts pretty obviously, to no avail. At the moment, I still experience troubles maintaining two sites at two different web hosting co's because of DNS trouble.

Everyone do a chargeback. With the amount of people posting here and the amount of overcharges, tnot only will that be painfully expensive for wisehosting, they may also get their merchant account suspended. That would be a lesson for a company that is obviously stealing from people.

Update.

After several attempts to discontinue my account, all I get is:
Please cancel your account as it is mentioned in our terms and conditions.

Like I haven't done that about 500 times.
nothing about the money they overcharged.

They really s*ck.

Anybody know a lawyer that accepts cases via the internet?

Wow I see I'm not alone. FYI - I NEVER did get the charges removed by Wisehosting.net. I had to get my credit card company to do so.

WARNING: This card will be expired at the time of next billing please update your card information here:

hehe, i don't give them my new number

my bank company will give me a brand new one, and claim my money back.

This month (after cancelling my account) they charged twice!

I never gave wisehosting the order to bill my account. 2checkout could to it, but wisehosting abuses it!!!

I'm still waiting of a sina reply

The big mouth finally got stuck?

I have am having a bad experience with them right now, except it is with their domain name service, nomsol.com

I registered a name with them 6 days ago, and when I log in to my account I get the "problem with registration, please contact support" messege.

I emailed support every day for 5 days, and 3 times today, and got no response. I even called the supplied phone number, and it is a voice mail.

They are a enom reseller, so today I emailed enom, figured it wouldn't hurt.

For the record, I payed with paypal, so I am only out $8.50.
