I want to register a few .com.au domain names i have an ABN number and am able to acquire names. If i buy from an accredited AUDA then can i transfer the domain to my hosting company to host the site there. The hosting company i intend to host with does not register .com.au domains. If i do this then when i need to re-register the domain names the who can do this? Do i need to go back to the original company i bought from? I asked this to www.namescout.com and their reply was

You can't transfer a domain to a registrar that isn't accredited to register .au domains

This is what i am querying.

Just buy from your accredited AUDA. The host of your choice will give you name servers to add to your registrar details, just log into your registrar, change the name servers to what the host supplied, and in a day or three, your new .com.au site should be visible to the world :)
