Hey Everyone,
Happy 4th of July!! today Im going over to my Aunts house and there will be a bunch of little kids running around with cigarette lighteres and fireworks, should be a *blast* hehe
Whats everyone else doing? (or did)

I'm setting off a bunch of small fireworks and hanging with the family. Last time I did fireworks that shot into the air there was a little problem.

I was doing my own thing with some really cool fireworks (there was one that looked line a smoke bomb, but actually spins and sparkles really fast and begins to hover)... then this kid wants me to light his. He hands me this rocket thing:
Me: "Where's the stand?"
Him: "What stand? It doesn't need one."
Me: "You suuuuure?"
Him: "Mhmmm, just light it."

Well... I lit it. And it started off fairly normal. Fuse burning down then phsssswoooosh. It turned on it's side and slammed into a shed where the 2 newly weds were watching. They danced a bit as the rocket pounded around the walls and then it died out

Him: "Oh hey, Is this wire thing on a block of wood what you were talking about?"
Me: *smacks head* "Yes... that would be the stand. Why did you just tell me it didn't need one?"
Him: "It doesn't show one on the box."
Me: *grabs the box*

Printed in bright red letters right in the center "WARNING: MUST USE STAND LOCATED INSIDE THE BOX"

No one got injured, thank god. But I stay away from the rockets.

and if anyone wonders why we had fireworks banned to the general public here, there's a nice little example of why. :)

thats what the safe and sane foreworks were made for aka sparklers ; )

well in India, we have a day, rather a festival, in which every indian burns fireworks :)
its called diwali.. and is amazzzzzzzing fun... you have just goto see it :)
