Can anyone give a recomendation on a good seo company.
Not one that submits to the search engines. Dont care about that. We are looking to increase our exposure rankings and such. And do not have the experience or time to do it ourselves.

Thanks

www.oneupweb.com

If you find them costly, I will be happy to suggest an alternative.

I recommend Chris Beasley
http://www.sitepoint.com/articlelist/82

A VERY experienced SEO expert and not a rip-off merchant. His latest site www.websitepublisher.net is only just launched (in case you are wondering why it has no google page rank).

Its been claimed that SEOconsultants.com lists some of the ethical SEO consultants. I suggest you take a look at their directory.

Otherwise, go to this community webmasterworld.com and do a bit of reading...if u wanna do SEO urself, u might have to do a lot more reading there , if not find a suitable poster whom u feel can really do some SEO work for u and contact them.

Good luck

write jill at jill@highrankings.com. I've been reading her newsletter for about a year.

Go to google and type search engine optimization. The top 10 there would be good places to spend money on seo. :)

For a competitive term like "search engine optimization," with a lot of highly optimized sites targeting it, your query on Google tells you little more than which sites have the highest PageRank, a measure of the links pointing to a page. While that's a key component to SEO, it certainly doesn't follow that it indicates who will do the best job of optimizing your site -- or even who has done the best job on their own. For the most part you'll find some of the largest companies, but that doesn't mean they're the most effective at SEO -- some have fueled their growth by being very effective at things like telemarketing. It doesn't mean they're the best value; you'll find some of the most expensive companies among that top ten.

Actually, browsing through that list you'll also find a few (identified by following the backlinks that contribute to their PageRank) that are engaging in some questionable approaches for their clients. You should be aware of what they are, and consider whether you want to risk them with your own site.

You should also consider that a key part of SEO is making the decision as to which keyword phrases to target -- and that a lot of SEO firms make no effort to rank highly for "search engine optimization." In fact, many don't want to rank highly for SEO-related terms at all, taking a "fly below the radar" approach with search engines.

In any case, what matters is what they do with client sites, not their own; and there are some good recommendations in this thread worth checking out.

One more comment, regarding seoconsultants.com. It's a good site, perhaps most useful for its background information on choosing an SEO firm, and worth a look. And the firms listed there have passed a bit of scrutiny; they all have convinced the site's operator that they conform to his definition of "ethical SEO" -- a definition that I essentially agree with, but that some others do not. But unfortunately, they haven't accepted new listings in several months (the notice that now is dated in early May and says they have suspended accepting submissions until June 1 has been there for months, they just change the dates when each month draws to a close), so a lot of good firms and consultants haven't even had the opportunity to be evaluated. Over 300 have been declined, but there's no way of knowing if a firm that not listed is among those, or would qualify if evaluated, or has chosen not to apply, or has simply never heard of the site. Considering that there are thousands of people and companies marketing "SEO" services, the number represented there are a very small sample.

Marc have you had any luck contacting any of those companies? I've tried to email marcobicz received no response, when I called them in Australia the phone was disconnected. Oneupweb does not want to deal with webhosting industry because of oversaturation. It looks like Jayc on these forums is a good fit but by the looks of it he is not taking up on any new clients, so we are running out of more affordable options and are forced to look at the big guns like keywordranking.com. :).

I use Platinum Services (http://platinumservices.com) . I've used them since about 1998. I have always been happy, and more importantly so have my customers. There has been only one time that I have had to refund money to a unhappy customer.

We've looked at Platinum Services and they look good, but we are after a catch all comprehensive review rewrite service and Platinum does not offer this kind of service
