View Full Version : Goodbye Nocster!! DedicatedNow or Rackshack?
Okay, well I don't normally get mad but I hate nocster. I know I know I should have left before but I thought it would get better. But now its going down way to much, and I can't take it anymore.
Anyways I am going to move now to something at DedicatedNow or maybe Rackshack. All I really use the server for is to host a few of my sites and design CPanel Skins.
Just wanted to know what everyone things of both their networks. I use to be at rackshack but left because I was paying to much ($99/mo is good but had to pay $60/mo for cpanel) and I thought it was okay but not sure about the company anymore.
So please give me your input, it will be much appreciated.
Thank you all so much.
brandonk 05-20-2003, 01:29 PM I don't really think you can go wrong with either one, they will both be a HUGE improvement. Support wise, DedicatedNow is very familiar with CPanel.
inteltechs 05-20-2003, 01:47 PM they are both good :)
kicker 05-20-2003, 01:47 PM DedicatedNow is having network problems right now. RackShack or ThePlanet.
whit rs since august last year 2 servers then very happy until now Great network near 100% and stable...
Unless you need support rs is great !

I have to admit that if you request a reboot from rackshack, it's faster than DN

i have not tryed dn, no need to date to try DN, if RS keep me happy but for Rs its the fact for me ;)
The only thing i like to see at rs is a server monitor that can page me :D
BiGWill 05-20-2003, 02:08 PM I'd vote for RS over DN at the moment...
Their network is rock solid... whereas DN has problems now and then.
greets
See I was thinking of RS but I don't like the fact Robert stopped returning phone calls and emails. So I am probably going to go with DedicatedNow.
p1net 05-20-2003, 02:34 PM Hello William,
I would recommend you go with RS. With the new Cpanel deals they are really great. As they said above most places are better than nocster. :)
octeto 05-20-2003, 03:04 PM Check if the ip's they are going to give you are blacklisted.
who are you talking about?
NyteOwl 05-20-2003, 04:17 PM Never mind - long day

What are you talking about???
Our service is May has been rather good, except for a few minor issues in the past 48 hours. We are well above 99.5% uptime for the month...probably closer to 99.9% this month so far. You are going to have minor issues no matter what provider you select.
Complain all you want, but don't lie about factual network performance.

Whit so mutch ppl posting here about downtime at burstnet i dont tink this guys will be a "lier" ;)
I got less than 10min downtime from Rackshack since over 10 month...
Got 100% since the 10min 7 month ago... :D
You sit 99.5%... Its not enoufh !
Just my 2c
Okay yeah for sure I am leaving. I know what I am talking about, since I am always working on my server. You know what though it has been so called better this month. But so many times this month it slows right down where my email will not even come in, and visitors complain about the speed of demos sometimes. This morning’s downtime was the last I wanted to take.
Also I can take minor issues but they seem to happen a lot with your company.
It is my fault for being with a company that aims for only 99.5%. This is a lesson learned, and I will have to move on. Even though I truly don’t want.
BurstNET 05-20-2003, 06:05 PM huh?
speak english please...
And I said we have had 99.9% this month, not 99.5%. We advertise 99.5%, but besides Feb/Apr this year...surpass that.
If 99.5% at minimum is not enough for you, fine, take your business elsewhere...we understand completely...no hard feelings. But do not lie and say we have had too much downtime recently (this month) when that is not true at all. We have more than met our advertised uptime this month so far.

Fine, thank you for agreeing with me, and clearing that up.

That may be an issue with your server itself, but not necessarily a network issue. We have had very few speed complaints recently, since we hired our new network engineer. In fact, the opposite holds true, and we had alot of clients claiming they were seeing the fastest network performance ever.
Don't assume it is the network, as alot of other factors could be involved. You may have a defective network card even...which has been the cause of some speeds issues in the past for clients.

SchultzNY 05-20-2003, 06:27 PM Burst, Id be a lot happier with my service if the firewall I ordered Friday the 9th was installed.... Think u can get that settled? I was moved to the front of the queue last friday and STILL nothing. Ive called a couple times and I have a ticket open.

It's things like this that, if I was considering BurstNet/Nocster, would make me run away. You really need to revise your attitude towards people, ESPECIALLY customers. It's good to hear you are getting the network under control, but I don't think it's the only problem people have with your company.
Darktwist 05-20-2003, 07:17 PM I agree with amusive.com
BurstNET/Nocster have a bad attitude sometime.

Totally agree with you. It seems like you are bashing your client when you say that, it just looks extremely bad. A nice word on that is "Unprofesional". I have no objective of trashing your company or anything, just pointing out these things that you guys can work on.;)

...and because RackShack doesn't have any guarantee, does that mean that they don't strive for anything ? I hope you have a better reason than that for leaving Burst.

Rackshack doesn't post anything but I know what their uptime is like, and i know they strive for the best. Where if you look at nocster they are down yet again as we speak. And if you listen to how they talk they don't care.
The reason if its good enough for you is I am looking for better uptime. Sorry if that's rude :(
Don't worry I will ask the mods to close/delete this post since it has been a waste. All I have asked is what people think of Dedicated now VS Rackshack pretty much. Then nocster felt like posting and now everyone is focused on that.
Anyways, thanks to anyone that tried to help.
Thanks

Only their Level3 line is having a problem, I'm still getting through with 18-20ms pings. Do you think they want downtime? Downtime = loss of money, I'm not sure of any company that wants to lose money.

I think it just came back but i was getting nothing
