Can anyone give me any advice. Heres the story so far..

I purchased (on my credit card) 2 domains on behalf of a client www.procreationmusic.com & .co.uk from a company called www.bestpricenames.co.uk . This company has since disapeared.

I have emails from the company confirming the purchase which was made through worldpay. I also have the email from worldpay.

From the off as soon as they took my cash the problems started. firstly no email forwarding and eventually no ftp access or anything else for that matter.

When I tried to track down the company and the name servers suprise suprise who do you think they were a reseller for ?

Yes had to be, FASTHOSTS.

Ive tried contacting everyone I can think of to get back control over the domains but with no luck. I phoned FASTHOSTS and spoke to someone who I ended up wanting to punch. Their answer was to just repeat over & over "is there anything else we can help you with ?"

Maybe all the people who have had problems and lost money & business because of FASTHOSTS should meet up and go down to their place with a load of magnets & wire cutters and see what they got to say then.

My question now is...

WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MY DOMAINS BACK ?

They are regestered with my clients details who is, by now pretty fed up of the situation as he has advertised his domains on albums that are now released.

I have various places that would accept the transfer of the domains to their servers but cant get them released.

Any help much appreciated

cheers

shan

Do you have the registry key of the domain? If so, you can change the info at http://www.inww.com/maintenance/gtld/

If you lost it, go http://www.inww.com/maintenance/gtld/recoverkey.php3 and enter your domain name, it should then email it to your Admin or Registrant email :)

Good Luck!

If you lost it, go http://www.inww.com/maintenance/gtld/recoverkey.php3 and enter your domain name, it should then email it to your Admin or Registrant email

Go to this url and they will send the registry key to your admin contact, in your case it's "shan@stayfree.co.uk" :)

Hi,

Tried that but get this message..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry, an error occurred:
Your registry key could not be sent.
If you purchased your domain name directly from INWW,
please contact our helpdesk (help@inww.com).
Alternatively, if your domain name was purchased from
an INWW reseller or channel partner, you will need to
contact the reseller in order to retrieve your key.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thats the problem, the reseller has done a runner...

Getting closer though,

Thanks

Shan

Im not sure on how to go about the .com domain but for the .co.uk domain just fax nominet.. they will change the ISPTAG of the domain to a desired register of your choice then you would again have control over it.

http://mincer.net/move.html

Have a quick look at that, a lad i know did a little page on how to move it.

Regards

Craig
