Hi guys,

I am looking for affiliates for my new site, http://printers.abbey-lane.com

I am offering a guide which shows computer users where they can buy their printer cartridges for as little as $1.10 each, and includes names and addresses of wholesalers.

This has shown to be of interest to *anyone* who owns a computer, as virtually all computer owners also own a printer.

To encourage new affiliates, I am offering the guide for free to any affiliates who can make 3 sales between now and the end of August.

The affiliate program is handled by clickbank.com, who deduct your commission at source, credit your account, and then pay us what is left. So you get your money first.

The unit price of the guide is $19.95, and the commission split is a simple 50/50, although clickbank.com split the money after taking their commission, so we end up with just over $17 between us for each sale.

I would love any positive suggestions you may have, and welcome you as a new affiliate.

Kindest regards,

Monty.

Hi Jeff.

Well, I'd say the main reason is because the affiliate program is managed and audited by a third party, namely www.clickbank.com

They handle all the payments on my site, so I never actually see any money until after they take their merchant commission, then pay the affiliate. Then my account is credited with what is left over.

I tried to be very honest with specifying the amounts of $ affiliates would end up with by explaining how the % is calculated. I don't want people to think they will be receiving 50% of the $19.95, so took the trouble to point out that we *both* get our money after clickbank take their cut. My goal is to be honest and open upfront, show people I have nothing to hide, and to help them succeed. I truly believe that their success is my success, so I am not about to steal from my affiliates - it's them who help make me a success so why bite the hand that feeds.

I do understand however, that there have been affiliate programs where people do not get paid - I have been victim of those too.

But I want to still be in business in 5 years time, not having to run away and hide after 2 weeks. :o) cuz I ripped everyone off. Also, I like this board, and would really like to stay on it without people saying, "oh, there's that guy who ripped everyone off".

I have been with clickbank since February 1999 and have never had even a suggestion of an affiliate not getting paid.

I am just a normal guy running a website. Out to make a living, help a few others make money too, and eventually we all win in the end. :o)

I receive my check once every two weeks without fail - never late, and so do any affiliates with clickbank.

There are a lot of clickbank threads in this group, and I have not seen any which suggest dishonesty. Here's one which seems pertinent
