How many emails do you have in your 'Sent Items' box?


I got 4005

in total:

Sent Items: 8542
Inbox: 132
(I sort my mail with folders like "nanog, pho, important, friends, etc")
All other folders: ~60,000

I don't delete mail and that's a about 4 years worth...

I currently have 910 emails in my sent folder. But it's somewhat irrelevant, since I sort most of my outgoing mail into other folders.

Total mail: 158,052 messages.

(As you can guess, I don't wipe out most of my old mail).

You spammers!!! :D

I have 4000 emails in and 1100 emails sent. Offcourse, this is only for the last year and I haven't spammed anyone lately ;)

I have none I put the ones I need in a storage folder according to business or personal and delete the rest :P

out of those probably 40% of them are the emails to NSI requesting nameserver change which all failed lol.

well I clean my stuff out every couple months and archive the rest to keep outlook at peak performance
break into folders so outgoing mail is stored back in folder for clients etc...

i use aol :D

I have exactly 6,998 messages in my sent box. In all other folders, I have 8,589 messages.

about 1000 in a folder from failed signups, emails wrong in form, for free hosting. About 80 percent attempts at making warez accounts.

I have 239 in my personal "Sent Mail" Box. And 1101 messages in my Inbox ...but i also clean out every 2-3 weeks :)

I have 230 in my sent items box, but I clean it out pretty often and sort to other folders.

Go to Tools > options > Maintenance Tab...

Click the Store folder button and see where the files are currently stored, then go to that directory and copy all the files in it to a disk/cd/etc... Or you could set it to store stuff in a different directory that's easier to access. I always point mine onto my 2nd partitioned drive. That way when I reformat I still have my messages on the 2nd. Had to do that twice now. It's nice not losing a gazillion e-mails.

Yah... messing around with my comp a couple of months ago, I had to reformat just to get it working again, and I had no access to Windows... so there was no option to backup. I lost A LOT a emails, and some important ones that come back to bite me now. All that's done now though, and nothing like that will happen again.

And I cleaned my deleted folder, which had over 16,000 e-mails. ;)

I dont know how many are "sent emails", but I do a cleanup every 3 months, and keep potential relavent emails (sent & recieved) in a backup folder. That backup folder has 15,373 emails....and all the rest of my folders combines are 3,147. Uhh, now that I added those up I am thinking maybe I should go ahead and do a cleanup tomorrow.....or soon....so total 18,520. Hmm, maybe I could delete some of the really old ones since the oldest email I have in backup is from 5-14-99.

So what were the rest of you doing the day I decided to start backing up my emails? LOL

I think Carlos needs an additional hard drive to store all his emails and 4 CD-RW for backup :D

Why don't you clean out your trash? :eek: :D

I want to keep the Trash messages from the last 3 months, in case I have deleted something I should not have deleted.

I stick to web-based email cause i normally access from several places a day and it proven much more convience. I clean them regularly and right now i've got Inbox=280 Sent=152.. just empty those junks.
