View Full Version : I've a question for seasoned, and not so, resellers of names...

I was wondering, how much do you 'really' get out it as to what you put into it.

I have sat down and searched through for names, and came across 13 that I know could be resold, and two that I was blown away to see there, one that is five letters that no one can forget.

But, I have some apprehensions about starting to buy, only to get stranded by dead ends, and there being no markets.

Is this what you are all findings now? Only markets for <=4 character domains, and really niche searching? Or, does reselling for $20.00 to $30.00 really kick in?

Thanks for reading, and in advance for responding.

Well if you found two domains that "blew you away" then register them. It will cost 20$ and if they are as good as you think you can easily resell them. If you keep reinvesting that profit, no matter what you havnt lost anything. But you could gain everything. People do buy domains, there are lots of resellers who pay for domains. You can see people selling in RO&R Forum here. Good luck.

regsitering a domain costs a lot less than $20!

BTW show me a business with such a low overhead, and I will be interested ;)

GO FOR IT!!! and let us know if we can help :)

"regsitering a domain costs a lot less than $20!"

yes they cost about $8.95 each so add the 2 together is $17.90 (that guy said $20 to be quicker)

thank you for the responses, but they have been taken already, and no, I didn't tell anyone.

They were, and these surprised me, PIXIE.com and MYMALL.com

I was just very surprised that they were there.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll find more:)

Thanks though!

If we all prozac-fed ourselves everytime we made a potentially good name slip for reasons of either slow response, doubt, shortage of funds or whatever - the world would be such a laid-back-prozac-chilled place (what with the thousands of domainers this has happened to)! I even see persons on forums like this with usernames and matching domains I once had a chance to buy. But you can't look at it like that... don't cry over spilled Dots :) Just know that tomorrow brings more great drops :)

Thanks 95 degrees for the kind words.

My question, how in the world do you know if a name will even sell. Like, I looked up this one that is for hosting and it was there, but it's not that great or anything...so, does that matter? Or would you say you end up reselling for cost less or more than half of your purchases.

Thanks,
Jim
