and their justification was "It's interesting and we like to remind people to renew"?

That pretty thin at best.... I'm hoping one of these big companies goes a little too far soon, and really gets nailed for it. It's might the rest of them up a bit and remind them that healthy business practises are a better way to do business.

That's a lame attempt at getting customers.

I got it for a customer's domain, first though \t it was for one of my domains and was confused. he must have gotten it too, as he renewed for two years e told me. I thought it was from NetSol? I didn't pay much attention to it and shredded it so I can't check it now :(
