Vincent,
Prob. because you can get the same thing at rackshack.net for 128/month. $99/month for the hosting + $29/month for the extra 128 meg of memory. At rackshack you also get 150 gig/month of bandwidth.
The comments on this board seem to run hot/cold on rackshack. It seems if you don't need a lot of tech support, it's a pretty good place to host.

Frank,
While that may be true, I don't think it is any reason to laugh at this man's offer.
When you are looking for an apartment, do you look for the cheapest one with the largest couch so you can fit more friends in for a party? Or do you look for one that is moderately priced while still having a working air conditioner, heater, bathroom sink, etc. Maybe that "perfect" apartment that you can get for only $5 dollars a month with a huge couch doesn't even have a bathroom at all.
I don't think it is very fair to laugh at this guy's offer until someone can prove that rackshack is better than him in every aspect. How many customers does rackshack have? How many does he have? Maybe he provides much better support than rackshack. Maybe he is a former employee of Cobalt, and really knows how to work them well? Maybe his connection is faster than rackshacks.
It isn't fair to judge someone's offer just because of their price in comparison to the provider who gives it the cheapest. Especially in a thread that he started to promote it.
That's just my opinion . . .

Although 20 gigs/mo might not be all that much (compared to what I normally see included with dedicated plans), I would have just passed on the offer.
